Feb 2nd can't come soon enough
I've already forgotten about Sunday's game, we have Newcastle next and we should concentrate on that, remember we beat these Mourinho wannabe twats to the title last year despite dropping 4 points to them, I'll gladly lose the battle to these pricks if it means winning the war.

I'm old enough to remember the Revie team of the 70's - truly awful side. But this Arsenal team are worse.
Leeds back in the day were like Millwall fans ON the pitch: kicking, tripping, biting, spitting at opponents - Bremner in particular was a snide bastard, always making sure the ref couldn't see what he was doing. But I remember Peter Lorimer saying in an interview that it was all deliberate: they went out to injure the opposition, but they didn't go whinging when it was given back. If you dish it out be prepared to take it back.
It was different then, yes. Very different. Leeds weren't the only club with a nasty reputation, though. It was like that at a lot of games, a veritable bloodbath sometimes. But afterwards it was all finished with.
But Arteta and his bunch spend all the game whining about late challenges whilst simultaneously kicking fuck out of any opposition player. You can't have it both ways, you Lego-headed prick. You sup with the devil and all that, no good bleating about it when you have obviously instructed your players to maim other professionals and possibly destroy their careers.

After what went on with them on Sunday I truly hope the officials will be watching that team very very closely from now on in.

Arteta hinting that one of his players might have picked up a serious injury at the Etihad. I thought they all had...
The excuse will be his goalie who has picked up this injury. Surprise, surprise with it being the Caribou Cup game he would NOT have played anyway, so IMO being a suspicious twat that I am,it will probably be him.
They all could have been killed the tossers.
FFS I hate the Scousers but by fuck the Gooners are coming up in a near neck and neck race who I hate more.

I've never seen a player's injury celebrated so much by a set of opposition fans as Rodri's is currently. There are some vile individuals out there. What they don't seem to realise is that injuries don't discriminate. Arsenal's turn will come.
I take little notice of what gets posted on places like X, although I’ve been told there are thousands of Arsenal posts on there celebrating Rodri’s injury… for me it was worse in the ground when they booed him when he was down and booed him off the pitch.

…and thinking back to the furore these hypocrites created about Stoke fans booing Ramsey being stretchered off the pitch last decade!

I think the only thing injured at the Etihad was their pride. Haven’t seen so much coordinated falling down since Ring a Ring o Roses at nursery.

The plague of time wasting is dealt with differently by different refs. Eddie was booked for putting the ball on the goal area line and then moving it a foot to one side. Nowhere near the time Raya pissed up the goal posts. The largest portion of the blame must rest with IFAB. It's the guardians of the LotG that could do summat about it, but they bugger up as much as they mend so I wouldn't expect any improvement soon. I would specify a number of seconds to get the ball in play from a ball in touch. I'm certain the ref could have a little gizmo or, better still, a digital clock that is counting down and reverts to the mode showing how many secs left, that vibrates when the time is up, and then a goal kick reverts to a corner and the other team can have the throw in. Same for free kicks. We'll get more of a chance of the game approaching 90mins instead of, probably, less than 60 on Sunday. And opposition teams will have to come up with another method of cheating their opposition and fans.

I wonder if football would explode, if the rule that keepers only had 6 seconds to hold the ball was actually enforced.

I remember at the 2012 Olympics, when Canada played the USA in the women's football, the Canadian keeper was penalised for it. Turns out the USA team captain was standing next to the ref counting the seconds out loud, every time it happened.

That probably worked because Abby Wambach, who was doing the counting, would have been the most high profile player in the world at the time, and likely able to put pressure on a part time ref. I'd guess if someone tried that with Oliver, he'd tell them to do one, or just book them.

Still, would be nice to see Raya's face if it did happen.
