Were having a bad league season too. Injuries galore plus the cluster of red cards in the first half of the season for trivial reasons.

We have been nowhere near our best in the league. Although I think your bad season is systemic due to an ageing squad and many key players moving into MLS/Saudi territory. We will see if you get Wirtz or have to settle for Gibbs White as De Bruyne replacement.
I doubt this guy is an Arsenal fan, he's probably a rag. Seems like he's only here to wind up blues, whereas Bridgeno clearly is an arsenal fan.

No other team got going in the league to put pressure on Liverpool. Arsenal have been the best of the rest, still everything to play for in the Champions League, they’ve shown against Madrid in one off matches they can win.
At the end of the day yes we've had injuries but football clubs have had injuries forever and we didn't have a clear backup strategy. That's on Arteta and the board.

We've only been beaten in the league 3 times this season and twice were when we were down to 10 men. The number of draws is what's killed us and there have been games recently (Palace 2 days ago, Everton and Rags away) where we've just not shown any effort. It's like they've relinquished the league challenge to focus on the CL and that's inexcusable when you have fans paying big money to see their team and also is dangerous as taking it easy can ruin a team's momentum.

I remember in recent seasons when City would go full DEFCON mode from Feb onwards - no matter the game they'd go strong and hard and that seemed to help maintain your momentum. I'm not sure why we think strolling about against Palace will help us be battle hardened for PSG.

On any one-off game we are a nightmare opponent (the fact we've lost just 3 matches would indicate over 2 legs we'll be hard to best) but there has been too much inconsistency to mount a realistic challenge.

Also the talk of a proper striker - sure, seems like Gyokeres is inbound. He'll not give us another 10 points a season though as we need to tactically adjust to low blocks and also try and be a bit more creative instead of machine-like in midfield.

Finally, Odegaard for us this season has been like KDB for you this season - the odd glimpse of brilliance in amongst a lot of mediocrity. IMHO I think he's overrated. If you look at our star players I don't think Rice or Saka are overrated and have done well this season. Saliba isn't overrated but hasn't been on top form this season.

Odegaard however has become easy to play against - if you compare a peak Odegaard to a peak KDB there are some similarities but what KDB has (had) vs Odegaard is a top quality shot whereas Odegaard is weak at long range shooting even if technically he might be a bit cuter than KDB with the flicks and layoffs.

If I look at your team you've got Rodri coming back and if you can get Foden to remember how to play football properly again I reckon that's 10-15 points extra season on season, and that's without City sorting their defence and getting some new players embedded in. So City will challenge again next year even if I think the Club World Cup will end up having an impact on fatigue and injuries.

Rice is overrated.2 great games against Madrid, average season before.
You do not get the name plodder if you are having a great season.
Has there been any English midfield or forward player who has had a great season despite being average at the Euros.

I think you guys call him plodder. He's top notch when you watch him week in week out and is an absolute machine physically.

Think they'll do it next season. Got to break the bank for Isak though.
No chance Newcastle sell him this summer unless they miss out on top 5.

And based on previous forays into signing attacking players we'll say we are interested in him and end up signing Zirkzee on loan instead whilst spending £150m on 3 new left backs.

Hahahaha Gyokeres is shite

Martin Keown on the right.
Honestly, that guy as a pundit needs investigating for false representation. Gives Eni Aluko a run for her money, and that is saying something!
