Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

With respect this current City side bears little resemblance to the last City team that won the league. You seem very unlikely to win 10+ games on the bounce - a decent team will slice through that midfield and punish that defence. You can't outscore teams every week. I agree with previous City teams chasing down leaders but to me the current team looks miles off that. But we will see.
Manchester City last ten PL results: W7 D1 L2
Arsenal last ten PL results: W7 D2 L1

Nobody is going on a run of 10+ wins anymore, not in this league.

Your arseholes are twitching like a rabbit's nose and we can all sense it. After all, we've danced this dance many times before.

agreed, in fact when we went up against arsenal (very decent team) they sliced through our midfield and punished our defence, oh wait , arsenal shit their pants, its what arsenal do, and until your team show they have the balls your team will be known as bottlers , added pressure to win the league, added pressure to show your arses arent going, you're having a wobble and it isnt even january yet, if we stay close to you with 7/8 games to go the world will fall out of your arses , :)

I think to be fair the fixtures have been harder for Arsenal, plus Arsenal have played 1 more away game than City but also that point against 10 man Chelsea isn't looking quite so clever now.

Just need to get through the Xmas break, must play the Carabao team against Bruges midweek, beat wolves on Saturday and move on. Only City away stands out as a difficult game although we are home to Liverpool in the new year who I imagine may be rejuvenated with a new manager in place.

All the talk about us being 10 points ahead by now is nonsense - we've been good at home but away it has been scraped wins at Old Toilet and Newcastle, 1-0 win at Fulham and a routine win at Burnley which you'd expect us to do. We lost at the Dippers and now Villa, and drew at 10 man Chelsea and Sunderland. Not exactly terrifying form. It's the Emirates that is a fortress and will need to remain so.
What do you think your main issues are? Only conceding 9 goals in 15 games is impressive but averaging less than two scored per game is not the stuff of champions. Your top scorers only have four goals each. Wasn't Gyökeres meant to solve your striker problem?

Call me old fashioned, but I can see the perenial wobble/tnroat slitting episode, in the not too distant. It is not even in the universe of over. Rabbit's Nostril's, incoming.

He's been injured, still regaining match fitness. No issue in so far as we are top, but we've had virtually the entire forward line out at the start of the season and now it's the defence's turn.

TBH the one thing that would really derail us is Rice getting an injury

Your set up works better with a false 9.

I think Gyokeres is aimed at battering past the weaker teams with low blocks. When Havertz is fit he'd play at City away for example but they'd play Gyokeres against Wolves, Burnley etc
Playing a 9 means you get less out of your wide forwards, like Salah is finding out.

It’s a trade off that we have with Haaland too. Is Gyokeres worth it? We shall see.

Yet Arsenal didn’t really do that at your place did they?

Look, you may well go and win it, but considering where you were a few weeks ago I would imagine there’s a few nerves starting to show …

I have said to Liverpool fans several times over the last few years, City are the last team you want to have breathing down your neck
Especially with the bald fraud in the head coach's seat.
