Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

He's been injured, still regaining match fitness. No issue in so far as we are top, but we've had virtually the entire forward line out at the start of the season and now it's the defence's turn.

TBH the one thing that would really derail us is Rice getting an injury
Why? That would just open the door for another player to receive over exaggerated praise for tracking back, blocking a shot or two and making a handful of tackles.

That was like the most innocuous tackle and wasn't even called as a foul. ACLs can be triggered by seemingly innocuous things that cause the knee to bend more than it usually should. It's a massive shame for Rodri but to say Partey 'did him' is disingenuous.
Was it fuck innocuous. He purposely went into him and whilst i doubt he expected the outcome i guarantee he wasnt upset about the resulting injury.
You had a wee spell of being a decent poster but like your team you turn to shit when it gets on top.

As far a can see this is forming into a classic season for city. (Fingers crossed)

Those previous years where City have chased arsenal down we've started slow, generally finding our feet, fallen behind, media saying we're finished..... All the way up to that time in February and March by which time we've found our best 11 and by then it's mental strength to the finish.

We've done that so many times.... Usually whilst Arsenal go flying out of the block thinking its a sprint from the start, telling everyone that City are miles off it and how they are going to win the title.

If any club wins it (other than City) I would rather it was arsenal. But they really don't do Humble do they?

Your club should take a leaf out of citys book.... "Typical City, how glad we are that we have Gaurdiola... we don't assume we will win stuff just because we are City. It's a long haul and most if not nearly all City fans knows it
Why on earth would you want that? The only team I would prefer arsenal won it to is the rags and even then it is basically a toss of a coin as to which would be worse.

I agree.

How anyone can want Arsenal to win the league when that club has lead the biggest charge to bring our football club down over the last 15 years.

They have wanted us extinct.

I hope that club never wins anything ever again in it's history.

Rodri was targeted that day for sure. On the floor 1.5 seconds after the match kicked off

He was targeted and it was obviously on the orders of Arteta. Absolutely scummy behaviour.

Don’t talk like an utter ****! He was targeted, I know it and you know it!
Your views have been welcomed up to this point!

Honestly, I think how we are viewed is overblown. Do I like when I see us going down too easily, I certainly don't, but unfortunately that's not restricted to just us. Do I think we could be more fluid at times from open play, yeah.
But as for set pieces, what should I be embarrassed about? Every team scores from set pieces, they are a massive part of scoring in the modern game. I think City have scored from set pieces 4 games in a row, whereas we haven't scored from them in 4 games.

Honestly, have you conversed with most Arsenal fans online? :-)
I think we've become a bit of a victim with the globalisation of the Premier League, in that a lot of foreign fans (although not just them) have extreme views, and different ways of conversing with people online. Our forums tend to reflect this. I'm not interested in wind ups,.or rage baiting, or the manager / team are the best in the world when they win a game or the worst in the world of they drop points.

I joined on here over a decade ago to answer specific questions that were being asked at the time about Arsenal, and stuck around since,. although I take spells not posting when I feel the natives get annoyed at other fans posting. I've taken my son to a couple of City games getting info from folk on here about getting tickets and transport etc, as coming from Scotland it's easier for me to take him to Manchester than London.

Not scoring from a set piece in the last 4 games is probably the reason your lead has been cut to 2 points….

It’s a last minute winner so understand the Arsenal players being upset. But this is way too emotional for a team two points in front. It’s always been mentality with Arsenal.

They look too emotional again. If they don’t win it this year I think it breaks Arteta. He’s thrown away his football philosophy that he began with to be more defensive and practical to win this league.

They don’t have winning experience and it shows.

Maybe. I mean, in basic terms, if you are drawing 2 of those games and getting beat by the odd goal in another, and add a set piece goal to all 3, then yeah you gain 5 points back.

Set piece goals has also allowed you to convert potential draws into wins over the same time.

More annoying for me is the fact we managed to concede 2 goals in a single game in all comps for the first time this season in this run, and now done it on 2 separate occasions, and both those goals were in the 94th minute.

We all benefit, the issue that brought attention to yourselves is a fucking mural of the set piece coach. As for late goals we all gain & drop points from them.

That footage is very worrying if you are an arsenal fan.

Yeah being on the wrong end of a last minute winner isn’t a great feeling but come on it’s still pretty early in a 38 game season.

It’s almost as though they are worried about the bigger picture which is inviting other teams back into the title race.

The murals are a fan that does them, and some are done tongue in cheek. I mean there's 1 of Havertz with Win the Dog & 1 of Mohammed Elneny. :-)

It may well be but the set piece coach became the narrative so that’s your burden. Ours is oil money, no fans & cheats.

They’re used to falling to the ground with no one near them
