Arsenal v City (Community Shield) Post Match Thread

What I don't get is why both Silva and Nasri play only 45 minutes. I'm not really concerned with how well they did, but surely this was an ideal time to get each of them a good 70 minutes. I mean someone is gonna have to play against Newcastle. We're a better team with both of them out there, so I hope they reach full fitness quickly.

Again I will say, "Imagine being arsed about this game."

Lots of second stringers out there today, Arsenal had a full team and are much fitter because they have to be.

Was always going to be a win for them.

Why do Arsenal have to be more fitter? I do think though that our guys just took it a bit more easy to avoid injury.
Got lots of games coming up with CL qualifiers.

Strange teamchoice for last warm up game ---- We're starting title defence without giving the Premiership lineup a game to bed in .Hope Pelli knows what he's doing Lost in America with second team lost at Wembley with second team lets see how we get on at Newcastle can't afford a slow start again

Ray Stubbs: Do you like collecting trophies?
Arteta: I really like it.
Stubbs: Should have followed your mates to city then!

Haha so at the end of this season if Arsenal win the league cup will the media be reporting that the Areenal have won the double?!!

No they won't because it's a friendly you poor excuse of a presenter Stubbs!!

Several things we need to consider

Boyata is a liability
Navas is short of match fitness
Yaya is 'easing' himself back in
Nasty is short on confidence
Milner should stay
David needs rest
Willy could prove costly
Dzeko needs better service
Sami needs game time
Fernado is going to have a steep learning curve
Jovetic is not the finished article

Clichy isn't an emergency right back.

Watched the game on a Fox stream today, with Tyler commentating and Stewart Robson interjecting. Toward the end of the game, Robson started speaking about Richards and Sinclair being in the shop window and how Milner had now decided he didn't want to stay and wanted to leave, at which point he suddenly stopped speaking mid sentence. Rather sensed that Tyler was giving him a "I told you that in confidence' look."

Has it been reported that Milner wants out or was Robson speculating?

never said he was

Our best 11 is great, however, injuries and bans will happen... And when they do, that's when we fall apart. It happened last season.

There is way too much deadwood. Especially when it comes to defending.
