Arsenal v City (Community Shield) Post Match Thread

Again I will say, "Imagine being arsed about this game."

Lots of second stringers out there today, Arsenal had a full team and are much fitter because they have to be.

Was always going to be a win for them.

Why do Arsenal have to be more fitter? I do think though that our guys just took it a bit more easy to avoid injury.

Why are our young defenders getting the stick - were was the experienced players today - Yaya, Nasri, dzeko, Navas, Clichy were all very poor

Several things we need to consider

Boyata is a liability
Navas is short of match fitness
Yaya is 'easing' himself back in
Nasty is short on confidence
Milner should stay
David needs rest
Willy could prove costly
Dzeko needs better service
Sami needs game time
Fernado is going to have a steep learning curve
Jovetic is not the finished article

Can't disagree with any of that.

Zuculini looked like he always wanted the ball and sprayed it well. Silva looked good, kept the ball well and played a few nice balls. Kolarov got forward well. Jovetic showed some class.

Willy not too sure about yet.
Fernando ....just wow. The one legged octopus at the moment.

Doesn't mean much apart from fitness really though.

It's along season, there was no point risking playing returning WC players too early, getting them injured, and being fucked for a hard start to the season.
We had 6 first team players out Aguero, Kompany, Zaba,, Di Mechelis, Fernandihno , Negredo
Yes it would've been nice to win, but it's a pretty meaningless trophy, the amount of subs involved,,it's like a preseason warm up!
It just shows that we need Kompany and one other top class CB, Zabas link up play and tireless running, Yaya, Silva and Fernandinho in the middle.
Certainly not going to lose any sleep over it!
It was so riveting , spent the 2nd half painting, then watching it dry
