Artemis II

15000mph now.

One low Earth orbit, then a booster to reach high Earth orbit for a full 24 hour orbit round the Earth and then a final rocket burn to reach over 25000mph to escape the Earths gravity.

Amazing that humanity can do this.
We can do some amazing things when we come together with one common goal.

A common misconception is the big middle rocket is where the main thrust for lift off comes from, when it's the side boosters that give it the lift off. About 75% of the lift off force is from the side boosters.

Just look at when the middle booster RSC engines start and then the force of the two side boosters hits. The power is insane.

Watched that brilliant launch last night then went to sleep. Good to see that they are orbiting this morning and they have a functioning toilet.

No way they would get me in there unless the crapper was working.

For the watch nerds out there, NASA still issue Omega Speedmasters to astronauts as part of their kit.

Cool as fuck that.

The Speedmaster watch is on my bucket list if I ever win the lottery, specifically the Dark side of the moon edition. Little bit out of my price range at the minute at £13,500......1000011512.jpg
