Artificial Intelligence

What does it need to be for it to be AI as opposed to 'just computers'? For you.

Its a long way from my specialist subject but more like the robots taking over because they have developed the ability to think and perceive independently rather than just using a computer.
Just about everything involves a computer, so on that definition every post on Bluemoon forums involve artificial intelligence... which is clearly not the case as a a quick glance at any Matchday forum will prove there are plenty that show no intelligence. artificial or otherwise

So are you saying computers can't have AI by default?

As I understand it, it is the capacity to learn and make decisions beyond a pre-set limited programming, that makes AI. And to search and assemble infornation.

But I don't know enough, I'm sure others can explain it better.

Plenty of artificial intelligence on show in here. I agree.

Watch the social dilemma on Netflix. Scary shit.

These ex programmers for social media platforms, Google, etc are poachers turned gamekeeper and are now warning us that they created AI algorithms that have been manipulating users for over a decade and are now so advanced that its easy for them to elicit specific behavioural responses from folk ......imo its probably already too late to put the genie back in the bottle, or even to try and control it

heard it on radio 2 today saying it will take our jobs.robots dont go on strike have holidays etc.however if none of us have jobs how the fuck will we be able to buy any of this stuff.wed all be in poverty and the benifit bill would be horrific.

The idea is productivity increases so much that the profits will be shared around via universal benefits. Yeah, like that’s going to happen.

The big question for me is how society will adapt when it comes to education, because there’ll be very little need for it if whatever you study has little impact on the rewards you receive. I think we’d end up with two species, those that want to learn and those that don’t or can’t. I just don’t know which are the Eloi and which are the Morlocks.
