Something is going on. My 71 year old auntie told me a good few months a go that City had bought the site. Nothing unusual in that, except she had no reason to mention it. She just came out with it in casual conversation about other things. The thing is she has been 100% accurate about all business matters around Manchester. I'm into property building and maintenance and have to be careful who to deal with. She has steered me clear of a few firms and properties to avoid. They have all gone under within months of her warnings. She has a close friend who seems to be in the middle of all sorts of deals and is not the BS type. I mentioned to her that this rumour had been floating around for a while and was not really happening. Her response was quite resolute. We will see!

Highly doubtful at this stage.

My wife works for Solicitors who do all of City's work form transfer contracts to the new Academy and she says there is nothing on the radar where Asda is concerned.

For now at least, it's just rumour but I think it would be a cracking deal to do.

Oh and there is no contractual stuff for any lad called Messi :(

I would keep any info about your wife and her work regarding City off here mate.

Unless he`s got any photos !!

I was told long ago by reliable persons with connections at Asda (not City) that City were to acquire the site and Asda were to move to another identified site. I was told where but I have forgotten. Unless there has been a big change of mind I would say the acquisition was certain at some point in the future. The assumption was a hotel.

That’s where I initially thought on the East car park but was told that they can’t build on that area because of the mine workings and shaft underneath????
