Assault, leg breakers and elbows.

I think this topic should be about tackles that could have seriously damage a players career.

Why? Why should we not be interested in vicious assualts that might break a cheek bone and leave you out for weeks, or perhaps lose your teeth?

Take the one on Silva at Hull. It could. Take the one on Zab by Wellbeck. It could. Take the blatant elbow on Zab from Fellaini. It could not have. Yet all three were definitely worth a red card. Some say Wellbeck slipped. He did in a way because he couldn't control stopping himself for blindly chasing the ball, bringing danger to himself and the opponent.
As for our players not protected. No, we don't get the treatment Barcelona got when we played them. But I think it's more about poor refereeing other than our players not getting any protection. I do feel our players should stand up a bit more at times. Than again it can easily disrupt an advantage we have playwise. Like we did at the swamp. A bust-up could have changed the game the way we didn't want it to.

I have really no idea what you are going on about. What do you mean "our players should stand up a bit more at times"? Like punch Rooney you mean? How would that help? Or roll around crying a bit more? Do you really want that? What would you have them do?

Just hope Zabaleta isn't banned for attacking Fellaini's elbow

That's true none of us have considered Zaba's premeditated assault on toilet brush's elbow.

God knows what damage could have occurred. Wouldn't surprise me if the FA are looking into it as we speak. :-)

Just read that article in the paper. Fellaini's should get a 3 match ban just for saying that. What a knobhead, you've just had a right fucking let off so just shut up.

1 - Imo the 1st post was about our players not getting much protection and I think that mainly goes for careerthreatening tackles that you tend to see a lot in the PL. The elbow was as clear a red and yes, it could have done severe damage to Zab. Not careerthreatening. Think Pardoe, Haaland and that coudl have easily been the case with Silva at Hull and Zag at the swamp.
2- stand up in the way surrounding the ref and let him know what we think about the challenge. Not just 1 or 2, but at least 5 or 6. Barcelona are masters in that and Pep brought it on at Bayern as well. It sort of intimidates the ref.

As for punching Rooney? Anytime.

head injuries can be life threatening, let alone career threatening.

Don't condone intimidating the ref though, as one myself.

Re: Assault, leg breakers and elbows.

Silva a doubt for saturday with ankle.injury. Wonder how that happened? Could it have been bog brush in the 7th minute. Guess what? No card..... No protection.

The elbow yesterday was a joke. Slow motion and deliberate. Had it been the other way around, we know what the decision would have been
According to Fellani it was Zabba's fault - he ran into his arm that was protecting the ball. The IQ level at the Swamp is beyond belief.

Sunderland, Newcastle, Hull and Man Untd (x2). We are getting no protection from Refs. This is not a Wenger moan about tough and physical sides. Put together all these incidents with no red card. We have been lucky not to have players with serious injuries. Teams seem to realise they have now got free licence to hack us down with impunity. Why are we not getting theses decisions?
City should take these to the FA and ask for an explanation. Fire a warning shot across their bows. At least it might make refs in our reaming games consider their options more closely.
Am I being paranoid? Do the rest of teams at the top suffer similar decisions?
No your spot on . You forgot to mention Spurs away . Silva got crippled in that game as well .
