Assault, leg breakers and elbows.

Re: Assault, leg breakers and elbows.

I thought the ref was a disgrace last night, really angered me during the game.

Never hesitated to book us for minor infractions, while they got away with the same every time. Not to mention late challenges off the ball, and fucking deliberate elbows.

Even then they couldn't handle us, but in a tighter game that kind of officiating could cost us points.

Apart from assault, leg breakers, elbows, the constant verbal absuse by granny shagger and his failure to send off any of those red bastards, I thought oliver had a good game.
Apart from...................PMSL.
But our exemplary football - which appears to have the whole world hypo-ventilating - would have gone 'by the board' if he had given a red. This morning all of the Media and rag fans would be blaming their defeat on a red card. - City being brilliant would have gone un noticed. IMO.

Re: Assault, leg breakers and elbows.

I actually think that Oliver is a decent ref however he wilts in the very big pressure situations, don't forget that when we won the league he failed to give a last minute pen to Fulham at the swamp towards the end of the season, you could literally see him cower in the face of the pressure that he was under. Last night was no exception, he issued an immediate yellow because me knew a red was fully justified, there was no way he was going to issue a red at an OT derby game, Mike Dean would have shown a straight red in the same circumstances.

I'd rather that happen than a City player get seriously injured simply because he is better than the opponents and they can't handle it.

Can Oliver be hauled over the coals for the Fellaini elbow?

Surely the most basic requirement of a referee is to understand the rules and apply them correctly. Now if he doesn't see something, he can use that as some sort of defence.

But clearly in this case, he did see it. (a) video replays show him directly witnessing it, (b) he immediately gave a yellow card without consulting linesmen, so obviously he saw it. He cannot claim not to have seen it as a defence.

So what are the FA to make of this? Oliver is either incompetent, or corrupt. There can be no other explanation for not giving a straight red. Surely he has to be in serious trouble over this?

At most he'll get dropped down to The Championship for a week. Probably not even that though.
Nothing will happen

Re: Assault, leg breakers and elbows.

Their was a deliberate assault on zab, mainly for his altercation with that piece of shit young last season, a bit of payback which could have been very costly to zab, felaini and wellback were cowards last night. Oliver was terrified and looked baffled after the felaini incident?

How can he be a decent ref if he wilts under pressure?

What makes me proud as punch today is not only did we beat them easily and could of had 5 or 6 but the fact that our players and club officials have dignity. I don't want to see our players surround the ref - like Rooney does - Christ he seems to think he's the referee at times (half time constantly in the ref's ear, questioning EVERY decision) It would have been easy for the team to lose their heads given the vile tactics of Fellani and co last night but instead we just beat them by fantastic football. Silva never moans or stays down trying to get someone in trouble same for Zabba who would have been excused in trying to get revenge. Manuel has to take a lot of credit as he too acts in the correct way. There has never been a better time to be a blue and sooner or later the media will catch on to the fact that our club and ownership do things the right way.
This all day.

With regards to Oliver's appointment IF the scum were challenging for the title we'd have got one of the "Elite" referees. Even the PGMOL are having a dig at the rags. Looking at the fixture coldly it's a mid table side v title challenger and gives one of the younger refs some experience for when they hit the "Elite".
