So in.. Aprox £220.

Nunes £54m
Doku £55m
Gvadiol £85m
Kovacic £25m

Out aprox £165

Cancelo (?)
Laporte £25m
Mahrez £30m
Herrera £5m
Trafford £15m
Borges £15m
Charles £12m
Lavia (sell on) £10m
Mebude £1.5m
Palma£45m
Gundogan £0.
Royal £5m

So, a net spend of approx £55m and we’ve reduced the age of the first team squad significantly. Swapped Gundogan for 2 quality players. Both better suited to helping Rodri. Swapped Mahrez for Doku, much younger, quicker and on far less money.
Swapped Laporte for Gvadiol.

Think we’ve lost a few goals but gained a far stronger squad.
All for a net spend of £55m approx.

So, for me, we’ve had a great window. That net spend may come down with Bellis likely to go.
Looks great. Won’t know how good it will actually be on the pitch for a few months. Players need time to settle and adjust.

Kova and gvardiol look albeit it’s only been few games solid. If Nunes & Doku adapt the same then we will be in for an exciting fun season.

All without breaking the bank and after winning a treble. Just outstanding if we pull it off.

I have well and truly had enough of the circus that is the transfer window. Its just a fucking chore now.
Can't we go back to the old days when transfers just happen when they happen?
No that would be worse! At least when it’s over it’s over. Imagine Bernardo to Barca every day for years.

I'd say an 7.5/10.

Gvardiol & Kovacic have fitted in seamlessly and Doku is an incredibly exciting signing. I do like Nunes and think he has a good skillset for City, but I think his flaws are what you expect and settle for in a 4th choice midfielder during a window. The midfield transfer strategy has been a bit odd and a few misses in there. Bernardo extension was great but seemingly odds on for a move next season, which will mean we're looking at a replacement for him and KDB's successor.

I'd rather have kept Palmer - his decision, not the club's and good value - but it felt like this was going to be a big season for him. Foden & Bernardo are better in the middle, leaving him, Grealish, Doku & Bobb as the wing options. The other sales I can get more onboard with - I can't see any other Lavia type mistakes and we have had good value. I hope Borges does well & we resign him. I'm also not particularly fussed if Walker doesn't sign a new contract extension.

All in all, an interesting window that has seen us lose experience & age but replace it with some fantastic quality & possibilities.

It will be fine when it clicks.

if we got Bellingham as per plan A, alongside Gvardiol, Doku, Kovacic this would have been tremendous window.
the obvious drop of levels from Bellingham to Rice to Paqueta to Eze to Nunes and the 2.5 months leading to this aint great.

KDB injury threw another factor into it, which again makes it feel like we are worse off than last year in attacking sense as Kovacic, Gvardiol aint adding much for the numbers we lose with Gundo, Mahrez and KDb for 6 months.
Obviously internally others have to step up, will Grealish, Alvarez, Foden improve their G+A tally a lot? well they have to... Doku while big talent his end product aint great imo, lot to learn of timing, pressing, crossing etc.

Nunes much more of a defensive mid than a proper 8, he can be good to have when Rodri needs to be rotated. or fill in for Kovacic. but again wont add many assists or goals or be close enough to the box. I would say Rodri is the biggest danger to opponents goal from Rodri, Kovacic, Nunes trio.

As everyone is alluding to, the dream was Bellingham and we went for him and he choose Real (not everyone you want will come).

It does feel we have chased our tail a bit on this one since.

But we needed the number and the squad is what the squad is.

Can’t work out if Doku was planned, was brought because Mahrez left or because we knew Cole was leaving.

It’s clear Midfield/ wing will need to go again next season with ? over Phillips/ Bernardo (release clause) and KDB being a year older.

However, we will have set the wheels in motion with our scouts etc. and hopefully next season these transfers will work the same way as Kovacic and Gravidol and we can get our first choice in early.

As these could be 2 very important signings.

Hard to rate the window too highly with the thought that we had a better squad last season, but some of the sales where outside of our control.

Also just because I don’t feel the squad is as good, does not mean that is the case and there could have been a drop off in Gundo and Mahrez I’m not accounting for.

Plus I’m not greedy and don’t need this season to be as good.

First team to win 4 PL in a row or first English team to win back to back CL, is all I need.

Kovacic and Gvardiol already shown they will be outstanding assets.

Nunes and Doku only time will tell.

Incredible the amount brought in from the sale of academy/CFG players and I include Palmer in that, sad to lose him but 45m is a incredible deal for a player that a this time contributed very little.
