I doubt it was a personality thing otherwise we would not have been interested at all.
He probably just wanted Madrid, shame but that's life. We've plenty of good players, can't deny that Bellingham may well be a bit special for whoever he plays for for many years though.

Very good as we made a best squad in Europe even better and prevented Gvardiol from joining and strengthening a rival.

Bellingham’s family are clearly prejudiced against our club, and his playing for the biggest club in the word wearing his idol’s shirt under a legendary manager, so it’s not worth regretting it on our part. It also allows Foden more room to develop so long term it will prove to be the right move for us

If Doku continues with this form I'll need to change my vote from 8 to 9 as we may have signed the best young winger in the world along with the best young defender in the world. Obviously early days but good signs so far!

I will still give 10/10 for incoming but for outgoing I still think Phillips should have left on a loan or transfer. I have nothing against the lad but to see a player just sit through the matches when new comers are playing full matches is kind of depressing.

Poster often justify his exclusion because the world best midfielder plays in the same position as his but baldie has left Phillips out of matches against championship teams and teams from Bulgaria. That’s isn’t comforting.

I am happy to stay with an 8 overall. I hope it turns out to be a 10 by the end of the season and we lift a trophy. Until then a solid 8.

Don’t know how we will react deep into the season. No Gundo to take us home in must win games. Maybe Rodri is ready to take that mantle.

City very rarely put a foot wrong these days. Long May it continue.

Tempted to bump the score I had in mind, just for how fast they all seem to have slotted in. Not one looks 'a complete project' or out of place so far.

Quality over quantity but I think we needed a bit more of the latter.

I'm happy with the quantity. If we signed more we'd end up blocking the path for the likes of Bobb. I really rate Bobb and he's 20 now, so we don't really want to be waiting too long to include him or he'll get impatient.

The one part of the squad I have a tiny issue with now is upfront. I don't like that our alternative to Haaland (Alvarez) is somebody who is playing anyway, with the probable 3rd choice (Foden) also a player likely to play lots of matches in a different position. We don't have a basic backup centre-forward option in the squad.

Though Delap is looking good again on loan and there's a chance he could be it next season I guess.

We have made sone excellent signings and given strength to the squad . Imagine the bench when stones and kdb are back . I like the look of nunes .
I just wish that we had suitable back up for Rodri as we look a pale imitation when he’s not there and sides seem to pay through us with relative ease Anyone have a suitable replacement they can think of because we cannot play him for 60 games a season and clearly Kalvin isn’t trusted by Pep? Also Jack coming back from injury has reverted to passing backwards as his confidence seems low and he’s taking easy options and Doku looks the real deal

So far we have played two games without him . I don't think a pure Rodri back up is really what Pep is looking for he wants flexible players who can cover if necessary. With injuries and bedding in I think it is a bit early to judge whether or not Nunes , Kovacic or someone else can play the role when necessary or not. He is clearly a vital player but I am not sure that signing someone else would mean he would be less vital than he is now .

Correct mate . We need a world class destroyer

I went for 6 (slight drop off) but think it’s possibly a 5, Gvardiol and Doku are positives but looks like Kovacic and Nunez are not at required level. We have shown that we have missed Gundogan and Palmer looks to be excelling at Chelsea. Looking back now Chelsea got by far the better deal on the Kovacic Palmer switch
