Aston Villa (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

In the end it was a point that took us closer to Arsenal - forget the cudda wudda shudda stuff. I'm happy with the way the Prem has started - the top seven will take points off each other - look at the coaches - all pretty decent. Nice motivation for Pep and the lads.

As you know i dont write much other than I dont rate Cancelo..(I know...its just my opinion..Did cost us the Villa goal though and his passing throughout was terrible AGAIN) but thats not what i am writing.
Just ASKING this time no blaming or anything..Why didnt get Alvarez get a run, hes on fire at the moment? And also has anyone noticed how well Mahrez and Silva work together on that right flank when they are paired?? Which for some reason isnt as often as it should be.

Some happy clappers will have a go at me for saying this but what the fucks going on with Phil? He looks rubbish.
Phil is looking less influential but then maybe that's because he's often isolated with Cancelo playing in the middle of the park. Phil is not a natural left wing but he's a master at 2 on 1 overlap play - and needs back up.

Soton, Brighton, Everton, Palace ,Wolves away all will be harder imo than this mediocre Villa. also all top6 teams as well.
really hope the next busy period will hit the CL teams harder than us. Poo, Chelsea, Spurs hopefully drops lots of points in next 2 months in the league.

we pretty much have to play 6 CL games until end of October, thats pretty heavy schedule with some top games in league as well like Spurs h,United h, Arsenal a, Pool a.

Considering we've won four out of five PL titles we don't exhibit any kind of 'waterproof' qualities. Villa are not as good as they were last year and we often find these teams on a day we aren't all singing from the South Stand hymn sheet. We should be walking off with three points v teams like this. I think Villa have four points - one from us and three from EFC. Not the kind of show that indicates a tough away fixture. Trouble is we have gone from despairing, to hoping and finally expecting. Just hope we are back on song tomorrow.

We are the champions, everyone wants to beat us. It's a 'free hit' for most sides and their gane of the season. We have no god given right to win any game of football and the margins at this elite level are so small that if you're not 3-0 up, then there's a chance it could go pear shaped. We are a fantastic football team playing the finest quality football I have ever seen at City, enjoy ut while it lasts. And don't think we will win all the time. Be humble and gracious when it doesn't happen. Peace.
