Aston Villa (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

A few things I didn’t get watching yesterday,

Ashley young comes on hwtf did we not target him and get the FOC sent off.

I get the Bernardo substitution, but Mharez??
Still a point off the top at the end of the weekend, so not bad, given we still look ring rusty,

Looks a worse result after the weekends other results.

We're second in the league, with the best goal difference, most goals scored, almost the best defensive record in the league too and 5 points ahead of our biggest rivals.

Of course, a win would have been even better, but still...

How? We’re a point nearer the top and Liverpool, who despite the media telling us otherwise are still our main challengers, did not gain ground on us.. despite arguably having an easier game
Everton away may be easier for us but not for them. 2 points from 3 away games compared to our 5.

I’m simply comparing Villa and Everton and I think Villa just about have a better team
Not much in it. To be honest I think it’s a poor performance and a poor result given how bad they have been this season. We had won 9/9 against them before this one. I’m not sure how we manage to go from so good to so average in the space of 3 days. CL probably got something to do with it.

Okay then if it’s so blindingly obvious, why do you think the best coach in world football has stated his reluctance to make many changes to a team chasing a goal?
They didn’t score a winner by the way because players stopped after the early all be it wrong whistle so he didn’t score.
Exactly, play stopped and Ederson half heartedly tried to stop it with one hand!

This "goal disallowed" narrative is fucking embarrassing!
