Aston Villa (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Phillips has been on loan for 2/3 seasons. Nunez only joined last season and doesn’t even play in the same position as Lavia ffs, who has also been injured half the time since leaving.

As for Palmer he was told he was wanted but he wanted out, even on loan, which we didn’t want to do, stay or go he was told, so more bollocks being spouted.

I’m done discussing the players who have left with you and anyone else who’s using hindsight and revisionism to suit their arguments.
Thank fuck for that.

I think the effort is there but confidence is absolutely shot to pieces.
They’re playing on the back foot as a result.
The defensive frailty is a consequence of the constant injury problems for all our centre backs and is exposed by a midfield that gives no protection as we lack a proper enforcer there. There’s no nastyness in the middle of the park.
I’ve always been against making significant signings in January but a quality dm is desperately needed asap…

Ok, I'll tell you something weird I've been noticing. It's not that they're not running, but they're running to no purpose, and sometimes to disastrous purpose.
Look back at the highlights of the United match. United winger overlapping, he's up against Walker. Walker's jockeying him, slowing him up, doing his job as a full back in fact. About ten to fifteen yards away is Bernardo. Now Bernardo's man, a few yards away from him, is Fernandes. Suddenly Bernardo takes it into his head to race over to back up Walker (who doesn't actually need him at that point). Winger sees it, puts the back inside to a now perfectly free Fernandes. He puts the ball inside to the one skilful player still left in that team, he's got all the time he needs to tee it up, and to be fair, he duly puts over a perfect cross right to the head of a United player in the box. Watch any recent game, slow it, pause it, and you'll see that this kind of thing has been happening a lot. It's as if they don't trust each other any more, even as if they don't know each other any more.

Running but almost no one dare or capable to make a real physic challenge.

Most teams in the league have improved their ball playing ability and will no longer be scared by only cutting their passing lanes.

Just out of interest, what are our running stats like currently. They monitor things like this don’t they? Where can it be found.

You are assuming it would only be 1 if it was to happen.

Once you drop out it's not that easy getting back in.
If you think the City machine will be out of the CL for 2 seasons you're deluded.
It ain't in our owners playbook.
