Aston Villa (A) - Post-Match Thread

Villa are riding on something of a crest at the minute,so that was a tricky fixture, made even more so by a disgraceful refereeing performance, out of the way.

The first half was a master class in control, dominance, and skill with Sterling playing football like he did a couple of seasons back and looking like a player with a point to prove.

The second half was a bit different, while we never became complacent,we definitely came off the gas and a few individual errors crept in......there were moments i was concerned Villa's momentum and desire might just nick a point and i was convinced that Dean was waiting to award the crushing blow....however our resilience and game management once again saw us through.

MOTM was Bernie - just wow.

Excellent effort , two wonderful goals and some resilience and good keeping from Ederson when required to get us over the line.

Hopefully our stocks will be boosted by the return of a number of players missing through injury and suspension on Saturday and we are back to nearly full strength.

Seven first team players missing , take seven out of the Dippers& Chelski and they fold like a cheap suit , that was an excellent performance , the players that came in played at the top level, there was no drop in quality and for the first half hour we ripped Villa to pieces.
The bitterness of Slippy after the game was predictable 2014 has damaged him permanently , the irony of him moaning about a penalty shout , when in comparison Jesus was 100% nailed on penalty in the first half but wasnt even discussed.
Villa deserved nothing out of that game , an their fans treatment of Grealish only confirms how small time they are , surprised at Slippy G's naivety and tactics in the first half he got taught a lesson by Pep , winning a title in a two team league is a far cry from competing with europe's best , Gerrard was schooled tonight.

What a sweet result against the classless Villa fans and their classless manager who couldn't give City any credit...even through gritted teeth. Grealish is well out of that posion pit...and after tonight I am sure he knows it.
Did we sing him the Slippy song by any chance?
