Couldn’t make the the game today , on holiday in Spain . The Irish bar had city on but mainly had the rugby on do I couldn’t hear the crowd.. What was the atmosphere fear like today ?

Great first half. Not back to our best by any means, we’ve got many levels to go up yet before we are anywhere near that, but much more like it first half today.

Don’t know what that was in the second half. Just going through the motions and if it weren’t for Ederson (made a good save from Coutinho, cut out a pull-back that would have been a tap-in, came out and smothered the ball in what would have been a 1v1) Villa could have got back into it.

A bit disappointing second half but much better first half.

Play like we did in the first half on Wednesday, we have a great chance, any of that second half sloppiness, we’ll struggle, other than that, a great win today.

No disrespect to Haaland but Im happy if Alvarez starts. Sometimes Haaland hardly touches the ball.

He causes them fits today and provided a great assist

I like Alvarez a lot but we are way more threatening with Haaland on

Perfect really. Job done first half, took our foot off the gas 2nd, but with an eye on weds I thought that and the subs were sensible. Also today's lineup probably makes it difficult for arteta to guess what we'll do on weds.

How often have we had consistent top performances over the whole game, why wouldnt you want this?

I dont believe energy is as much an issue as ppl think it is, or in fact the reason the 2nd was bad (that they conserved energy).

The primary objective is securing the three points. Nothing more. Yes, a 90 minute performance, where we score 7 or 8 goals would be wonderful. But let's be honest here; how many of them have there been this season, particularly since the 6-3 derby win? Precious few. It appears that this is not a 90 minute team. As long as they get the job done I can live with it.

Good signs that Gundog and Bernado are getting their form back. Kevin still a way to go. Very glad to see a back 3 Laporte, Dias and Kyle Walker brilliant WTF was that booking for Dias. Silly little brain fart for their goal which gave them a boost What is up with Phil, had a couple of chances to run into space and reneged and went backwards. Never mind, bring on Arse.
