I have never been more confident going into a final game like this. There is no team in the world who can live with City at home and certanily not Aston Villa. Since leaving the field on Sunday the players and management have known exactly what was needed to win the title, no need to look at goal difference or what the dipper filth are upto, just go out and beat Villa. This crap about slippy and courtino is nonsense just look at where they are in the table, the players just need to keep their nerve and play the game and not the occassion, especially dont give the ref any excuse to book and send them off with stupid tackles as we all know they will be out to punish our players for anything, thats the only thing that can prevent a City win.

Let’s hope Ake is fit, Laporte can play right centre back as he plays there for Spain. Much as I love Fernandinho he’s not a centre back and he’s been making poor decisions the last 2 matches.

I hope Gundogan plays as he gives us more control, we were much better with himself in midfield against Wolves and KDB further forward.

I’d play (fitness depending):

Ederson, Cancelo, Laporte, Ake, Zinchenko, Rodri, Gundogan, Bernardo, Foden, KDB, Jesus.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Sterling starts though.
Gundogan could be severely drained and fatigued after his wedding night.
Have you seen his missus.. Wowzer

There seems to be quite a few peoples ‘inner chimp’ chattering away amongst the angst and nerves this week but I am absolutely sure that..

it’s going to be alright blues!

It’s going to be alright for any one of a number of reasons…

The most probable reason it will be alright is that the odds are in our favour that we’ll beat Villa and be lifting the premier league trophy come Sunday evening. Even with a few injury woes we have a great team and manager and so we should have confidence.

But if for some reason it doesn’t go our way on Sunday, it’s still going to be alright.

It’s going to be alright, because yes, the following days and maybe even weeks would be a bit ugly, but we’ve been through far far worse in our time. The reality is the dippers are already totally insufferable anyway and much of the media has been despicable for years now, so it would only require a bit more hunkering down on our part.

It’s going to be alright because whatever your inner chimp might say, ‘typical city’ doesn’t exist anymore, it’s a thing of the past. Our club has performed at an extraordinary level for several years now. There’s been the occasional mishap or fuck-up which happens in the fine margins of elite sport, but none of that bears any resemblance to the institutional self-harm of the past.

It’s going to be alright because for the foreseeable future we are privileged to have a very well run and financed club that will be competing for trophies. Sadly, there are far too many fans whose beloved clubs have suffered at the hands of feckless owners, chancers and incompetent regimes. Maybe for them it isn’t going to be alright, they have proper woes. We don't.

It’s going to be alright because the best young striker in Europe is on his way here and we’re going to have hours of fun speculating and arguing about what he is or isn’t going to do and how quickly etc. It’s quite possible we might have some other incredible signings too. The kind of arguments we’ll be having about our best starting 11 bear no resemblance to those of the vast majority of football fans.

It’s going to be alright because, before we know it, a new season will be on its way and as Blues we no longer look forward to them with a degree of trepidation but with excitement and expectation (but hopefully not entitlement).

So, if you need to, have a chat with your Inner Chimp tell him (or her) that it’s going to be alright, and their only job for now is to cheer, scream and howl the team to victory on Sunday! :-)

Thought the same this morning.
Some of our scalps at home this season include the Spanish champions and the European champions to name just a couple.
A mid table Villa shouldn't be as difficult as the media are praying for as long as we stay composed and ruthless in front of goal

Been having a look at Villa's away record since Gerrard took over.

Palace 1-2 (W)
Liverpool 1-0 (L)
Norwich 0-1 (A)
Brentford 1-0 (L)
Everton 0-1 (W)
Brighton 0-2 (W)
Leeds 0-3 (W)
West Ham 2-1 (L)
Wolves 2-1 (L)
Leicester 0-0 (D)
Burnley 1-2 (W)

So they beat the teams below and around them but tend to lose/draw against teams above them.

Surprisingly decent to be fair, not been beat by more than 1 goal!
