I was just thinking yesterday that their form seemed to be picking up and if they could get a win against Liverpool then they'd only be 5 points adrift of safety which would give them a bit of hope. Then they go and get beaten 6-0 at home.

I know what you mean but he's already written off £100m of what they owe him and he hasnt invested any of his own money for over 3 years now other than that apparently. If Villa go down the tubes he will walk away and shouldnt be worse off personally, he will just fold the holding company if needs be. I cant see that happening as the club isnt struggling to pay the bills at the moment and costs will be cut to prevent that situation, Lerner doesnt want them losing money so they are in the best position to be bought, even if the price he wants is totally unrealistic. Villa face the very real prospect of no manager, no funds for new players and the first team squad ripped to shreds in the summer, they could well end up getting relegated again, it seems it will get far worse before it begins to get better. Whatever happens, I dont see Villa sucking up $1,5bn of his personnel wealth like a huge multi national might, in any event.

I understand IH8MUFC might think I am lying about knowing people with contacts, its the nature on here it seems, and I just have far better contacts at Villa than within the club I love, I live in Birmingham and have known these people for years. I have no reason to lie about this, I have nothing to gain, if folk dont believe me, I'm not at all bothered.

Report on a general football site claims the U-21 side beat the first team 3-0 in a friendly.
Also reports fans will walk out in protest about how bad they've become during the next two home games.

I don't get walk out protests. The club only cares about the money and you have paid that money to get into the ground. If you really want to show a club your unhappiness stop buying tickets.

They are already doing that.

Just in case anyone else has, like me, missed the news that David Bernstein - former chairman of MCFC - is joining the board at Villa: http://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/mar/11/brian-little-david-bernstein-aston-villa-board

Brian Little, their former player and manager, is also becoming a director.

From the sounds of it, Bernstein's experience in trying to sort City out after relegation to the third tier could be rather useful to him in this new role.

Liked David a lot but he must be getting on a bit now?
