Astonishing developments in AI

Mate, we're talking about machines doing the thinking work as well as the menial repetitive work. This isn't doom and gloom, handled correctly it'll be the best thing that ever happened to us, but it will be the end of humans as labour.
As for new technological developments, where do you think they'll come from when the machines are better at thinking than us?

We will go round in circles. Let’s waut and see.

Though I mostly disagree with Chippyboy - he's got a point in that advancement in technology is such that the need for humans to work is radically diminishing.

In 100-years time, what jobs will humans actually need to occupy?

Perhaps advanced science/mathematics? These areas have not yet yielded to computerization. But in 100 years?
===
And even over the next 10 to 20 years or so - it's hard for me to see where humans will be gainfully employed - outside of science/math/sports/literature - and maybe music. And the sum total of these such jobs is very much smaller than the total number of living, working age humans.
===
This may well represent a utopia - humans are freed from the need to work and are instead able to purse a life of leisure and enjoyment; provided that the economic benefits of computerization/robotics are shared among the general populous.

Some current types of Labour. New ones will emerge. They always have. Nobody carries or drags stuff to building sites. Buildings are still built. Nobody sends fax messages or build fax machines, messages are still sent, people build their replacements with the help of computers.

People don’t transport goods on canals, but canals are still used for other commercial activity. And so on.

You never strike me as a pessimistic ****, an annoying **** yes, but not pessimistic. Look at our human evolution and tell me we haven’t adapted. Then tell me why now we will suddenly lose that capacity?

How would order be maintained if everybody is redundant? How would society function? How would new technologies develop? How would City win the CL? People, have faith in the human spirit. It’s abikity to adapt. To move forward. Why not look in the positive side AI could bring humanity. Less hours needed to work with fairer distribution of resources. Shut like that.

It’s alwats dion and gloom at the beginning of any new technological leap.

Let’s change the fucking record for once you miserable old ****.

What do you not understand? AI will be capable of fully replacing anything humans do, these new jobs that will be created will eventually be taken as the AI will be capable of doing it anyway.

Says it all when Elon Musk is worried about it and he tried to convince the senate to regulate it.

And if we need to we will. That’s called adapting. That’s allowed.

Maybe music.

No chance the benefit of it will be shared with the general population, we are a burden.

I'm aware of this sort of recent AI development. Hence "maybe."

Humans relate to pretty faces/attractive bodies/similar age musical groups. Humans can contribute in music for sure over the next 20 years - and likely beyond due to the aforementioned factors.
Contribute yeah, but most working composers make their living from things like advertising, film scores, gaming etc - the very areas that will be easiest for AI to take over in.

The same stuff was said during the industrial revolution. That people would be redundant, I have the same feeling that a Luddite reaction is happening today.

People who are prone to believe world takeover and subjugation by elites and the illuminati type scenario, take any advancement and immediately run to apocolyotic conclusions.

They fucking can’t wait for shit to happen so they can say told you so. According to these types, it should have happened years ago. There are people out to end the very planet they Fucking live on.

Every conspiracy under the sun is trotted out. Every world event is used as proof of these unseen hands. Every disaster is a consequence of these dark forces. It’s the Rothschilds, it’s the Illuminati, it’s Dark Government, its Alien Shapeshifters, it’s the CIA and Israel.

It’s what it always has been. People in positions of power seeking to retain their power.

In terms of advancements, you only need to look at how many jobs are no longer done by people. This is not new. It didn’t end civilisation. That adapted to accommodate technology. I see all those gettibgvtheur inicjers in a twist as a continuation of what sonecsaud about the railways. The mechanized loom and a million other things.

People who want to promote doom and danger will always find a hobby horse to pin irrational views on.

Terminator was only a film. It wasn’t real. Neither are the Illuminati, Aliens interfering or an AI superpower whose aim is the destruction of humanity.

Will working patterns change? Of course they will. They always have. To believe that machines will develop human consciousness is Fucking ridiculous.

However, that won’t stop the apocalyptic lovers. They fucking love to come out with this shit.

Don’t look behind you. There may be a conspiracy theorist itching to bore the tits off you about the next great Armageddon.

AI will increase in capability, it will have economic and social consequences. Just like every scientific advancement since the wheel.

I bet you there was a lot of discontent among the people who used to carry all our stuff. Fucking raging rgeyvwere when wheels screwed their living. Or the breeders of horses and makers of wagons when trains and the combustion engine came along.

We adapt. That’s what human society does.

Ancient Aliens might have given us a clue though. Cunts.
Come down here, build the pyramids then fuck of without a warning? Bastards.

Oh and the moon is an alien ship. David Ike told us that. So, no question if it validity. Has that bellend jumped in the AI bandwagon yet? If not, hang around.
You are David Icke and I claim my £5 sir!
:)

There is a tipping point coming mate. some of the richest people on the planet, owning some of the biggest companies are calling for a universal basic income. Mass unemployment is coming and if nobody has any money nobody is buying. It also has a lot of cross party support in different countries. Goverments would fall with the unemployment rates coming if its not introduced. It cost companies less in tax on robots for UBI than for a workforce and their entitlements not to mention that the welfare state will be gone with a free for everyone payment. By far and away the biggest plus for UBI thoughh is that no one will be below the poverty line.

Gonna have to revise the old revolutionary songs.

Arise ye victims from your laptop's...

There's no point owning the means of production when 95% of the world can't buy anything you produce.

One of the cold countries did the univeral payment as a trial looked like it was working well and then just got shelves, might have been Finland can't remember.

On the other hand - how excited are you to attend a Deep Blue concert? Or to purchase Deep's very latest music videos?
