Kaka is a much much better than Tevez will ever be. Tevez is like Dirk Kuyt works hard and runs about a lot but isn't the best on the ball. Tevez can't beat a man, everytime he gets the ball he turns back and passes it back, Tevez isn't a great finisher or a great passer of the ball.

OKay i'm sick of this and have to post something. Do you think Berbatov 'loves' united, do you think fabregas 'loves' arsenal. No they don't. Let's get real. Robinho doesn't 'love' city but he 'loves' us as much as any other player in the premiership 'loves' their club. Dave whelan this morning said this transfer will 'rip the soul out of football'. No Mr Whelan charging extortionate prices to watch your team play at the JJB is ripping the soul out of football.
And i would also like to put an end to the argument that we shouldn't sign kaka because we need players in other positions. Indeed this is true. If we only had £100m in the bank i would agree with you. But we will sign other players as well as kaka. I can't for the life of me see how your team signing the best player in the world can be worrying. In fact i hope city offer them £200m just for the sake of it.
Much of the soul was ripped out of football a long time ago (probably around the time sky took over and 3pm saturday games were consigned to history) but that's just the way it is i'm afraid and it's not the fault of city's owners.
If people don't like city spending huge amounts of money then you'll just have to get over it because it's going to happen regardless of what anyone thinks.
I don't know about anyone else but i'm looking forward to the ride - signing the best player in the world is FUN and EXCITING - two things football is meant to be.

He's like most of these other pampered mercenaries who only see a pot of gold and want everything they can grab. £150 to £250K a week, that's nonsense and for me, he can stay in Italy rather than rob the club blind.

The rags look like they are going to lose Tevez at the end of the season as their owners are doing their level best to fulfill our dreams and destroy them from within. Wouldn't he be just as good an option at half the price? Alright he's not as good looking as the rest of the squad but you've got to take the rough with the smooth sometimes.

Why did Shearer go to Newcastle or Blackburn? Ferdinand, Rooney, Veron etc to the Rags? Any Chelsea player go there? Yes thats right, theres one common denominator here and its money. Yes, he would expect to be challenging for things in a couple of years but are you seriously suggesting that he sees City as the only club in the world cpable of providing him with top football in the future and therefore he has relised he has to come and play for this bottom half team for a couple of yers until we get there. If all players came for the love of their clubs, then why are they holding out of £100,000+ wages. It is because most of them are only interested in earning as much as possible. So f**k it if we can afford to pay silly wages to bring in one the worlds best players, then f**k it, let's do it.

Your first sentence is spot on Dacross and that is my point, they are mostly mercenaries. Silly wages can be paid but at what cost to morale? Are other established players going to ask for their contracts to be renegotiated to bring them into some sort of parity and if they don't get what they want and see some prima donna as getting preferential treatment will they then decide that the club is not for them?

One hell of a hornets nest if you ask me.
