At the risk of invoking your ire re Kaka

Fella's this is a first and I hope you don't get too naffed off about it.

My opinion on Kaka is this; if he joins City then it's just another nail in football's coffin IMO. Whilst not doubting for one second how massive a coup it would be for the blues to obtain such a great player does anyone really think he'd be coming for the love of the club?

Come on, get a grip. He'd only be coming for one reason and one reason only; money. He's like most of these other pampered mercenaries who only see a pot of gold and want everything they can grab. £150 to £250K a week, that's nonsense and for me, he can stay in Italy rather than rob the club blind.

The rags look like they are going to lose Tevez at the end of the season as their owners are doing their level best to fulfill our dreams and destroy them from within. Wouldn't he be just as good an option at half the price? Alright he's not as good looking as the rest of the squad but you've got to take the rough with the smooth sometimes.

Fuck me Bren I can take it from the Media and I can take it from opposing fans, but I can't take it from fellow City fans FFS!!!

Lets get one thing clear...Kaka is not here for the money!!!! Their is NOW a NEW super power in football and that super power is no less than MANCHESTER CITY!!! When some one like Sheik Mansour has a Dream then the ONLY ones that can't get with that team are the ones that get left behind!!

In two or three season we will be the biggest of all current teams, if people are brave enough to climb onboard the Sheiks dream....Its upto you Bren are you onboard or are you staying in the little City mindset???

We obviously look at our glasses with a different point of view. Mine's always half empty!

Money killed football years ago, we're just upping the stakes. Suddenly we are the bad guys cos no-one can live with us financially.

The G14 or whatever have not given a shit about the rest of football before now, so fuck em.

Like Robinho has?

Early days yet. One of our wonderful national papers, The Guraniad, has cobbled to gether some guff about him moaning about Hughes today.

I take my defence of your opinion back. There's nothing more tedious than people who thing they are being clever and funny by saying The Graniud. It's less original and funny than chicken crossing the road gags. Winds me up and I don't even buy the paper.

Sorry, but truth is, most players are where they are for money first, love is way way second. SWP may well have feelings for our club, pretty sure he has, but he came back because he didn't get games at Chelsea.
Kaka has more money than he will ever need already, and if it was simply the dosh, he wouldn't have hesitated in coming. But he wants more than just that, he wants success at whichever club he moves to, and its our club's ambitions for that that which Cook, ADUG and Robinho are trying to sell to him.
As for it 'ruining football' well thats just media bulls*it. Didn't it 'ruin football' when Chelsea, manyoo or whoever spent silly money on players? It upped the stakes and pulled them away from the spending power of lesser clubs, but a lot of the media and other managers don't like it now it's ''little siddy'' able to do it. Well fcuk 'em all.

Why did Shearer go to Newcastle or Blackburn? Ferdinand, Rooney, Veron etc to the Rags? Any Chelsea player go there? Yes thats right, theres one common denominator here and its money. Now another team is capable of spending more than the rich 4 everyone suddenly starts flapping saying we are ruining the game. Theyre just worried as if any of them miss out on the Champions League their budget will eb fucked and they will all plummet further into debt.

IMO clubs like Blackburn in the Jack Walker era of one season and, to an extent Middlesbrough when they signed Brazilians and others for ridiculous amounts then paid them over the odds, were the start of the downward spiral in footballs morals. It has just snowballed out of control since then and the game that I once loved is being ruined by the money men.

bigbrentheblue is talking some sense here

we all seem to want galacticos, but it doesnt seem to guarantee success, just look at Real Madrid, new manager every season, one big signing every season

I would love if we spent a lot of money on Casillas, Lahm, Cannavarro and a modern day Makalele not sure who we could get for that role though

all these signings would be massive in their own right and thats what we need cos we are a massive club

How can the best player on the planet coming to city be anything but good?

Is it not exciting, fun or entertaining?

Isn't that what footballs supposed to be about?

Im certain some people are worried we might become half decent and they wont have anything to whine about in the pub every sat/sun night.

if we only sign players who come for the love Of the club half of us on here would get a game, GET REAL.

SWP loves the club doesn't he? What's so hard to understand? Players like Kaka may come, but they'll just as soon fck off at the earliest opportunity or at the first sign of things going not quite to their liking.

If he doesn't love the club now thats no big surprise, but if he comes , he will know what the club is all about and in time will surely love playing in our shirt
