Are you real,he will be one of the first names on the team sheet.
I can't believe the people on this thread, coming up with reasons why certain players should not play in this game.
It is a knockout match,if Pep listen to pundits on this forum, we will be knocked out.
Pundits ? I'll have you know, a few see themselves as scouts and/or first class coaches

Their crowd will be urging them to attack which will play into our hands , Simeone would like to stay in the game until 75 minutes and then try and nick a goal , if it was down to the manager Atletico would play exactly the same as the first leg but the atmosphere will be their downfall.
A couple of goals in the first half will kill the game completely , but if they do cross the half way line and manage to nick a goal it could be a long night.
Looking forward to another beauty and the beast game , anti-football versus the Pep way.

Pretty sure that shower from Stretford had numerous chances against Atletico and came away with 1 - 1. Hopefully we'll create and take a few of our own.

I’m not an expert on German referees, but I have seen in the Bundesliga and in the UCL. I have also seen the reactions from people who probably know him much better than I.
I’m not sure you can argue that a guy who has given 3 red cards in 27 games this season, and none from two yellow cards, would absolutely have sent a Liverpool player off. Maybe he would have, maybe not. And it is not the VAR referee’s job to draw the lines for the offside checks either.
When I say “control the match”, I should have said, “keep it under control”. I certainly think he lost control at that Atletico vs Liverpool game, for instance.
I do hope we are in good hands, like you said. I have no reason to think he is corrupt but just reasons to question how he will do at that stage.
I think his kind of pedantic style could be good for us, but I also remember 2 controversial penalties for handball back in February which could well be targeted by Atletico, so I hope we take care
(btw, I hate those penalty decisions).

Have a look at 0:50 and 4:30 (mute the German comment),
hope this link works:

Having digested the umpteen posts on the subject, it now seems that De Bruyne would miss the home game against Real Madrid if he gets booked on Wednesday. The UEFA wording is typically vague. Are we all now in agreement?

Yep. Suspensions will stand (in contrast to the situation after CL play-offs) whereas the list of yellow cards will be cleared AFTER the QF matches.

Atlético should not be underestimated. They play at home and have quality players, especially forwards. City are the better team, and they know it, but they will try to win with the help of their fans. We are hitting form, though. If we play at our best, they'll need a lot of luck to survive. 2:1 City.

Their home record in the CL is not great so far this season, haven't won any of their four games.

What a weird and thoroughly shit punishment for atleti. How the hell do they decide what 5k seats to close so close to the game? They've surely sold out by now so is it pot luck depending on where you sit? That could result in a season ticket holder missing out whereas a tourist on their first trip gets in. If they've somehow yet to sell out then that's not even a punishment.

Also, forcing them to have to hold up a no to racism banner like its a form of punishment to be seen to publicly condemn racism is a very very odd thing to impose.

Thought they played very well vs Liverpool at home and were a bit unlucky to lose, even though they played the 2nd half with 10 men. Pep won't underestimate them, and rightly so.

Atletico will play the same first half with 11 players behind the ball to try & limit the score to 1-0. When they do push players further up the pitch id'e expect us to pick them off & add more goals.

As soon as they try to attack with more than 2 players (not sooner than after an hour I guess), they will get punished. Shit team, weird mentality.
