Atletico Madrid | Friendly (N) | Post Match Thread

This match didn't provide any surprises for most City fans. It confirmed we still have no cover in centre midfield if Rodri isn't playing; the academy kids are not ready yet for the highest level; the right hand side looks a bit shaky defensively without Kyle Walker; we can't afford to lose Bernie under any circumstances. On the plus side Ortega is still excellent (we are lucky to have him as a back-up); we avoided any major injuries.
I have a gut feeling Pep will make some decisive moves this week. We need Guardivol or someone like him. I wouldn't be shocked if we went in for Lavia either.

Good work out but we didn’t learn anything that we didn’t already know. We’re highly dependent on Walker’s recovery pace, we lack an attacking option on the right, Phillips still looks as if he’s brought his finger paintings to the Royal Academy, and seven weeks later the youngsters are still youngsters.

Treating friendly games like it's Champions League Final.

Match day thread visitors in nut shell, absolutely embarrasing.
Totally disagree. No one is saying this game is important. What it does massively highlight is just how light we are creatively outside the strongest match day squad. As it stands we have lost a lot of goals and assists from Gundo/Mahrez and we need to do something about it.
