Atletico supposedly after Negredo.....

As someone said a page or so ago, keep Negredo and Yaya for one more season and then flash the cash next summer.

Atlético Madrid and Chelsea continue to iron out the final details over the transfer of Brazilian-born Spanish striker, Diego Costa and the La Liga champions are hoping the money will be in the bank soon, as they look to acquire Manchester City’s Álvaro Negredo as Costa’s replacement.

According to Spanish sports daily AS, Atleti are not only finalising the sale of Costa but also the loan for Chelsea striker, Romelu Lukaku, however, Atleti begin their pre-season on 7th July and the Belgian international could still be in the 2014 World Cup, leaving Atletico Madrid to begin the pre-season without a striker.

Meanwhile, former Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo, who Atleti see as the ideal replacement for Diego Costa, is still on holiday in Ibiza, awaiting the call over his future.

Manchester City are looking to recoup the majority of the €28 million they paid Sevilla last summer, while Atletico Madrid are hoping manager Diego Simeone can breathe life back into the player that had a hot start, but soon drizzled and hasn’t played a full 90 minute match since March.

With the opening of the transfer window a day away, it is expected that negotiations between the two sides will continue to advance.

My thoughts exactly, if we have enquired about Astori for CB its because we need money for elsewhere due to FFP restrictions. It feels like Beast and Yaya going is inevitable now, we should hopefully move quickly to make sure we can replaces them. Sanchez is already linked with dippers, Arsenal & rags and thinking about replacement for Yaya, Carvalaho, Kroos, Pogba, Vidal have all been linked with other clubs. I hope Tixi & Pellers are on top of all this which I am sure they are!
