Can understand those getting a bit precious about Peps comments but we went Liverpool Bayern Arsenal Madrid Fa cup final CL final CS SC, and in those games, I would say we were ok against the dippers and it built from there, peaking at the FA cup final, it’s just a timely reminder to say “hey we go again” you can’t blame the guy for repeating what he’d said previously because it worked. I know there are those who turn up every week & turn it on in the stadium (every credit) but there is another 5 people for every one of those, and it’s them Pep is talking too, he even quoted the KO time & beer!

I think that’s exactly why he does it. He’s cottoned onto the fact that it gets us angry and gets us going more than if he’s said nothing.

The atmosphere is always better when Pep puts in a few comments about the fans and the atmosphere.

He does it with the players n’all.

Guardiola is the master of psychology.
 
I’m missing the match tonight, will be watching from Corfu. Hopefully those who are there will show the Geordies how good our atmosphere is.

We had a few 10/10’s last season, would be great if the atmosphere was more consistently like that - if you’re not a regular singer, tonight’s a good time to start. If you sometimes sing along quietly, now’s a good time to get on your feet and sing louder, set the tone for the rest of the season.

There’s nothing embarrassing about trying to get supporters to support the team. He needs us to play our part. Occupying a seat isn’t support.

As for the ‘incorrect belief of other fans that we don’t support the team’; we’ve all been there many times when the atmosphere has been truly awful, like Maine Road before it. Difference is we are living through our golden age and some fans won’t get involved until we are three up!

Judging off a lot of comments online and from mates before the start of this season, there’s a bit of an attitude amongst some of our fans that we’ve completed football by winning a treble.

With that, a lot of people might have an attitude of sitting back and relaxing now rather than raising their involvement in the atmosphere.

So Pep might be worried about that. He can get into his players day-after-day hour-after-hour to make sure that doesn’t happen with the team, but he only has the press conferences to do it with the fans.

Those who think a treble is the pinnacle in football need to reëvaluate that, because it isn’t! We’ve got a lot of things to aim for this season (and forever more) that could top last season’s treble and we can’t sit back nice+relaxed if we want that to happen.

The good sign is that Burnley and Athens were good!

That's nonsense mate, if anything he's bonding the whole club together, notice he's always saying WE, as a whole ie the players and fans as one.

thats what i was saying way back in this thread,I was stating that it shouldn't need Pep to ask for
a good atmosphere,if we need to be told its time to give up .Its not a doubt in my mind too,it will be rocking.

He's not saying it for us, he's saying it to build an us against the world siege mentality. He thinks this is the best way to get the players going at this stage of the season, to jolt everyone out of their post-treble success.

The support and atmosphere in the 1st half is great.

Pep, you asked for our support and you've got it.

As for Toon Army and their legendary (away) support where is it?

I don't want to read our support was poor or shit post match.
