Atmosphere 2024/25

I'm was in 231 mate, if you're talking a out the people directly to the right of us in block 228 then they're uefa requirements to give the away team a small number of Category A tickets. I get kicked out of there as that's where my season ticket is.

Didn't realise that, cheers for clearing that up

View from afar: I thought this was another shining example of why the new stand is the only chance of ever improving the atmosphere significantly for the run of the mill games. Those in the singing areas seem to think that the atmosphere was OK but almost nothing spread around because you basically couldn't be heard above the away fans for 90% of the time.
Thought last night proved once again that the atmosphere will always be created next to the away fans

So much going wring on n off the pitch.
The prioritisation of tourists over locals has bit us on the arse. Its left an aging support where younger fans either cant afford or cant get tickets

If the price was right i would buy 3 season tickets in the new stand where me and my 2 kids could sing n shout. Instead i have 1 ticket in the CB3 where i sit listening to people talk about what they had for tea and have to rely in a favour to take one of the kids

The opposite to me.

500 singers in SS1 cannot compete with a noisy away end under a roof. Their songs don't spead to the other 500 singers on the opposite side because they can't be heard, and so the rest of the stadium don't have a proper leader to join in with. The rest of the stadium mainly join in when there's a big enough noise which usually takes the two lower tier areas signing together or even better the toop tier of the south stand because of the bounce/echo off the roof

I know I will get pelters for this Ultras shite off some posters. :-)

It’s orchestrated, robotic, capo led, boring, monotonous, with drums, etc.

But it’s great in my opinion.

The Ultras L1 stand behind the goal is pretty much similar in size, length and depth to SSL1. And that’s where the similarity ends atmosphere wise

And look at the size and the length of the banner hanging from L2. Not a fucking advertising board insight on L2. (cough!)

Click on the X top right, and then on the speaker logo on the video page to hear the chanting whilst watching the video.

The Germans have form for huge set piece displays with iron discipline....

Few Dutch In ss1 last night,l. assume they kept quiet during the game otherwise they'd surely have been done in and thrown out but as one of the very last people making their way out of that area i saw that they were trying to get over to the away end at the end then starting chanting to them in Dutch when they couldnt. I "accidentally" sent one of them for a closer inspection with the wonderful slippy concourse floor as I made my way out.

Have to give credit to their away end though. Until they started trying to kick off and singing dippers songs at least. They were loud and it felt much more natural and reactive to the game ahead of them as opposed to the usual tedium of a rehearsed choir with a conductor that many of the European fans are. One of the better lot imo.

Here's a question JRB would you like it if that was the norm at the Etihad and you were orchestrated by some bloke at the front with a megaphone.

Think it's just meant to be a bit fun mate, they seem to enjoy it, English fans are wound too tightly in my opinion. If we did it, I'd join in, call it shit and fake all you want but at the end of the day it's just abit of fun.

Being honest.

I certainly wouldn't mind being part of that. :-)

It reminds me of the Poznan. I took part in everyone in block 111 and block 115 every time City scored a goal during that period before the Poznan died out.

As for following a chant leader(capo), that wouldn't bother me. Or in my case, following a fan who starts the chanting off in SSL1. I join in all the time, even if the chant doesn't take off. I've started chants myself in 110 and on SSL1 that have spread around the ground.

What I hate hearing is complete silence, along with fans just talking to each other whilst the match is being played

I think we could create a compromise, not an Ultra end, but a constant vocal end, and singing section, given the right setup inside the Etihad, which many of us thought NSL2 could and would be. How naive we were.

Calling bullshit. Your arms aren’t that long JB!
My arms are that long I can grab the shoulders of two people either side of me. :-)

But I still can’t wave a telescopic pole and small flag properly. :-(

I ended up waving the damaged small telescopic pole and small flag on Saturday at the front of SSL1. It’s fucking shite! The small telescopic pole needs throwing away. Thanks for getting it ready for me.

Out of interest, what did you have for tea last night ?

Fair enoug.

Shift the away fans down to the wet shit seats in 110,111&113....shit view & shit acoustics.

Make SS3/2 all City along with most of SS1.

8000 City fans under a roof which will project noise down & out will make a heck of a racket !!

Two ends are better than one.

Also, when the Kippax started to become our end in 1965 a few of us grouped up led by Mark Bittner.

We got a few old and new songs going, our numbers swelled home and away when Les Tate and the lads all joined in, and momentum was underway for what became 1000s and a bloody raucus atmosphere for years.

We were the first 'City Ultras' and Mark was the first 'Cappo'

From little Acorns.....

Zigger Zagger Zigger Zagger Oi Oi Oi !!
