Atmosphere 2024/25

Sorry are you saying you don't beleive there are early leavers normally at the Etihad? In that case I can only conclude you have neither been to the place or read the multiple threads on the subject on this very forum.
Nope.Never set foot in the place, nor Maine Road.
Apart from the last 41 years...

What I am saying is on Boxing day seeing people leave in their droves when the team needs that extra support to me us just bizarre.Unless they gotta go work then their is no excuse for me. To beat a bit of traffic?? Pathetic excuse. I know it's happened for some time but has definiteley gotten worse over the past few seasons

Not saying I agree with it but cant for the life of me understand why you are surprised by it given the fan behaviour at the stadium over at least the last decade

Already been mentioned.

A bit more detail.

Move the away fans from SSL3. Safe standing seats are already installed and waiting for City fans. Make those 1000+ safe standing seats a singing section.

Brighton.

They will have both ends of the ground full of Brighton fans

In 2027, away supporters will also be relocated to the south-west corner of the Amex.

The shift will create a new area for home fans directly behind the goal at the south stand of the stadium.

Most clubs now have two standing/singing areas at either end of the ground. We seem to be one of the only clubs without this at the minute and without a proper home end.

when we first moved into the Etihad it doesn’t seem like this was considered at all.

Or leave the away fans split over 3 tiers and install safe standing in SSL3. I sit/stand in 315 and enjoy having the away fans up there. Adds to the atmosphere etc.

It wasn't to the same extent though in the 80s. A chant of "part time supporters" used to go up from the Kippax to the Platt Lane when people there started leaving. It's harder to leave a crowded standing area ,as well, and in the middle of the Kippax it wasn't readily apparent that lots were leaving from the Kippax, although some would had been from near the exits.

It's like a critical mass has been reached now where people think if you can't beat them, join them.
So true. The invalid cars left early sparking a mass exodus from the Main Stand moaners and the Platt Lane stand.

There is an excuse for night games because the local trains are so shit. Most drove on Boxing Day.
