I echo your point about their fans generally being shite until very recently. Please let's not try too hard to be like them and stay with a traditional identity......maybe I'm just an old man though.
I appreciate it isn’t for everyone, but when that amount of (Palace) fans take part in a march to the stadium, you know they are going to create a great atmosphere.

MLS clubs have much better atmosphere than PL clubs tbfWouldn’t be out of place in the MLS.
You are dead right that a Seat Counters work is never done. Did you spot that weird little group of 8-10 empty seats in the bottom tier towards the half way line? On the north side of the stadium? All I can think of is a group of wealthy fans or players’ family who couldn’t go at the last minute for some reason.I sat in the top tier waiting for the whole of the bottom behind the net to get going, it never did, not once. I must admit I was concentrating on those expensive seats, a seat counters work was never truly done until you saw people in them, I was curious as to why they made us all wait so long, were they rich, imposters, desperate, stooges, maybe in years to come a documentary will be made about those buyers of the last 100 seats, a where are they now kind of thing
It looked quite a bit of fun to me and they made some noise. We were “away” as well as them!It’s like being at a game in the MLS, including the song sheet. It makes a noise with the drum and difficult to compete. Give me our away atmosphere anytime of the day.
If you like a drum and the same choreographed songs that’s fine, each to their own. I’m taking about the non Wembley games. Most home clubs this season have said our away support is second to none.It looked quite a bit of fun to me and they made some noise. We were “away” as well as them!
i was in that sun trap it wasnt nice, first and last time , back to the top tier if we are there again,Fans of most clubs at that end of Wembley don't normally turn up.

Your point about the singing section is spot on. It didn’t work. I was in 115 and didn’t hear anything. I think lots of people go in there because they want atmosphere but don’t want to create it themselves. They want to be surrounded by others that do.
A rare final so they were always going to be loud but Palace fans were great on the day, if you like that sort of enforced drum led thing. They made a good noise though. I’m not having anyone tell me they’re great fans though. Anything north of Watford and thier incredible following drops by 60%. Normally their attendances fall through the floor at home in cup comps too.
We’re not on our own here. Most fans of all prem teams are pretty similar. Palace are a bit of a one-off though, so Why are they a one off? I reckon it’s because that group of fans must have some massive extraordinary personalities to organise what they do. That is not to say 1894 group don’t have totally dedicated blue bloodied fans dedicating their time to create the best atmosphere which must be some task. But I’m sure hundreds of fans at City would love to be part of a more ultra experience? And yes you’re right , those that don’t join in singing can pi55 right off with their opinions on improving the atmosphere.What do you think stopped those people who signed up to create an atmosphere from actually making any noise at all?
