Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

What is this forum like? People are constantly attacking people. We're supposed to fan base that supports our team. Our players and manager are telling us to up the atmosphere by raising their hands for everyone to up the atmosphere

At the moment, the stadium set-up does not work, as has been proven in the atmosphere issues noted here.

What is happening just now is that the club, for one, is above approach regarding the North Stand, which is not a good sign, as the stand is for the fans.

I am a member of the 1894 and did not hear of any plans until I received an email mailer. The club needs to come out and do a questionnaire regarding the North Stand, as what's going on just now is simply dividing the fan base
I’m not sure about half a dozen dissenting voices on this forum constitutes dividing the fanbase mate. I’m certainly not getting too many negative vibes from all the fans I bump into at home and away games. 1894 also have a lot of support from OSC members and have a fair bit of credit in the bank from the wider fanbase following last season’s ticket price protests.

Yep. The stench is strong with that one.

Just to take one of his points though. It’s interesting that he says 1894’s plan is for 5 smaller singing areas rather than 1 big singing area in the new stand. I’d like to know how he thinks it would be possible to have just one singing area. I mean, does he think even if 1894 recommended it, every single singer would vacate SS1, SS3, and Kippax Corner to NS2, leaving absolutely no singers in those ends? Whatever 1894’s stance, there’s no way in a million years that’s ever happening. Why? Because most fans are happy staying put in those areas and no amount of persuading from 1894 will persuade them to up sticks. Given that the official singing section from years ago in 110/111 only saw about a dozen fans move from there to the new singing section in 114/115 - you and I were two of those fans - after a huge public push from 1894, what makes him think it would be any different this time if 1894 pushed for everyone to move to NS2? Fact is that any relocations to NS2 will be from all areas of the stadium and not just those specific areas. After all, there are singers in other parts of the ground too.

And even if, by some miracle, every single singer from the 3 main recognised singing areas expressed a desire to relocate, there wouldn’t be enough spaces in NS2 to put them all in because the club won’t allow that many fans to relocate there. As such, the other singing sections would still exist regardless.

The obvious point he or she is missing, is, no matter what 1894 push for, recommend, want, don’t want, etc, any final decision is up to the club and the directors.

Why doesn’t Bonnie ask for a meeting with Soriano, Danny Wilson, the Directors, and the club to discuss the NS and NSL2 and see how far he or she gets.

People/fans will make up their own minds where they want to stand or sit next season when the new NS and NSL2 is open, no matter how much information the club and the fan groups give them. You can’t force people who want to sing to move and to relocate to another part of the ground. That is a personal choice. Yes, you can encourage them to move via incentives, but that’s not enough sometimes.

What about the fan protests that were organised by the fan groups, including 1894, that supported the fans over match day ticket prices?
It’s been a good year for 1894 with the ticket protests and standing up for Blues attacked in the home stands. The other fan groups have also been good.

There just aren’t several thousand fans ready to move into the North Stand and transform the Etihad atmosphere. We can start to rebuild the atmosphere now. Some Blues can rediscover their passion and we need more younger fans in the stands getting behind the lads. Isolated singers can become part of signing blocks should they choose to move.

The South Stand can be bolstered by Blues who’ve wanted to go in their and sing but just haven’t been able to get the tickets. The expanded North Stand should ideally be boosted by a youth pen and additional season card / flexi holders and the atmosphere can grow over time. Isolated Blues might want to join with friends in the North Stand.

Exactly Tim.

Let’s see how it all plays out next year and in the coming months.

There are too many variables to second guess what will happen.

We will get a better picture when the club finally starts releasing details about season ticket prices, match dat ticket prices, etc, for the NS and NSL2, and the take up from the fans.

The NSL2 test events will give an insight into that as well.

It would've been ideal if they could've had the stand finished off by around March and then given season ticket holders the option to move there for the remaining 5 or so games without any commitment to moving there long term.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's likely to be ready by then.

So so......but involved about 150 'activists' assembled in front of the Colin Bell Stand & delaying their stadium entry for 10 minutes.

1894s standpoint on the NS is divisive and against the clubs wishes, they represent their own interests not those of the vast majority of match going fans.

Remind the forum of how many active members 1894 have ??

Partly true, but that shouldn't prevent 1894,who I donate to, throwing their support publicly and enthusiastically behind the NS initiative.

A single stand, largely designed and constructed for thousands of singers, and wanted/needed since the stadium opening, should be supported by everyone.

Handled properly it could overtime become transformational for the benefit of everyone.

1894 do somethings well, but imo, they are out of step on this one...... but it's not too late to change !!

Start your own fan group and influence the decision makers yourself instead of whinging on the internet but actually do fuck all
Honestly there are lots of different opinions and arguments on here but it's been explained multiple times why when questioning something 1894 have done the " well why don't you do it", is one of the most moronic replies possible and no surprise it's one you have turned to.

Thing is though, 1894 was started by one solitary fan. It wasn’t a ready made set up - it was started from scratch so his point is actually correct. You could start something off yourself if you’re committed enough.

So it's a realistic option to set up a fan group with enough numbers, reach and respect from the club to influence decisions that are being made on the brand new extension as we speak?, is it bollocks the only groups the club will listen to on this are 1894 and the Osc , even the tag alongs such as trade union blues (whatever the fuck they are), pride blues ect have no chance without the backing of those 2.

My point was that you could set up your own group from scratch if you had the right level of commitment. Sure, it’s too late with regards this particular topic. However, you can still have a say. Did you fill out the survey? That would take less time than you’ve spent posting on here

I'm not willing to complete a survey that asks for all of my personal details when I have no idea of the data security capabilities of the group who have issued it, particularly when it's been originally shared by someone who continues to argue with me virtually.

You’ve got a really shitty attitude and continue to be abusive and a dick

Just do one as you’re adding fuck all positive to any atmosphere here or in the stadium

Yes, the 1894 did well last season with fighting for the season tickets and has helped other fans, I fully support you on that, and your displays you do.

But what a vast majority of fans are asking, and posters on here are asking, because the 1894 is an atmosphere group, they want the answer to the following question

1. Did the club ask you to move to the North Stand Tier 1, be the anchor tenant, and did you refuse this proposal?
2. Why do you keep trying to push the lower south stand when it has been proven that the area does not work because of the away fans being next to you?
3. If there was support from other groups to move the North Stand to create a Blue Wall, would you move? Or still advise that you want to stay in the lower south stand

Can I just ask, when was the survey sent out? Or do you have another link?

I may have already done it or just missed it, but the only one I can see is from april this year in my emails - about price freezes

The club wants a ‘blue wall’.

At what point have the club said they want a blue wall?

The SSL1 has been ‘failing for years’.

Really?

1894 have failed to make the Etihad an atmospheric stadium.

It’s up to the fans to make the Etihad stadium atmospheric, not 1894 or any other fan group.

Carry on…..
1) Khaldoon has referenced the ' Blue Wall'.....and Pep regularly calls for an improved atmosphere.

2) 500 fans behind the SSL1 goal singing "Whaa Whoo" & "Empty seats at home" doesn't constitute an atmosphere.

3) 1894 ( to whom I have donated) are the self appointed 'atmosphere'* group but don't create an atmosphere in their chosen section. They certainly don't influence other parts of the fan base with their noise or choice of songs or chants.

Additionally,1894 have no involvement or influence at away games where our support and songbook is the best in the league !!

Little influence at home , and no influence away, is not a strong recommendation for anyone wanting guidancefrom a fans group re the NS

* Amonst other activities.

Constant negative remarks about 1894 in their initial post on this thread.

On the plus side, Bonnie is starting a new fan group and movement, #NS4Singers.

Let’s hope it’s in place by the time NSL2 is open and operational?
"Joined on 29th of November "......

......but home,away & abroad since 1958 as a 6 year old.

In the Market Tavern if you want to say "hello".
