Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

Loud and proud blues, get behind them!

I do think our fans are going through a weird glory induced hangover - which is exacerbated due to the clubs ticketing policies and fan engagement.

I know loads of long term fans who simply can’t be arsed compared to 2/3 years ago.

Regardless, nights like tonight aren’t why we are expanding the stadium.

£51 for a ticket in SS3 is ridiculous to be honest. Doesn’t explain why the £30 ones didn’t sell.

Fulham at home midweek soon which will be more of the same.

There really are some negative people on here.

For a 7:30 January Wednesday night game against Brighton, the atmosphere was absolutely fine today. Plenty of songs went round the ground. It was never going to be like a derby.

I know people are in a bad mood because of the result, and the ticket prices for tonight were stupid, but the atmosphere was fine.

The club are losing the connection with the fans by the week. You can feel it. The atmosphere at the Chelsea game felt like a morgue at times. We used to get well up for Chelsea games. As fans we should have been rewarded for our loyalty after 2 years shouldering the 115 charges and supporting the club through thick and thin. Instead we've been unappreciated and increasingly alienated by the people we've been defending. The atmosphere is reflective of our increasing isolation from the club.

Can't the club and the nameless execs see what damage is being caused to the club by their ticketing issues? The North Stand is going to look like Club Wembley
Yep. Rows of empty seats. It’s not all individual fans not attending (in the main). It’s the club giving huge amounts of tickets to third parties, which aren’t selling out. Those areas should be available to all city fans, not just greyed out.

Obviously the stupid pricing at times and access issues don’t help either. Struggling to see how we are going to fill the north stand regularly

One of the better first halves, well at least in the bubble I'm in.

2nd half everyone was just pissed off. Including myself.

The empty seat thing. No point caring about it anymore, economys fucked and we'll have over 20000 more seats than Stamford bridge.

Thought the 1st half was good helped by the worst refereeing performance in years. The 2nd half wasn’t as good. The atmosphere only picked in the 2nd half as City tried to find the winner.

More worrying was the amount of empty seats all around the Etihad with a new tier with an extra 8000 seats to fill.

Having 1000’s of additional empty seats all around the Etihad certainly won’t improve the atmosphere.

The directors have got a lot of thinking to do before the new tier opens, and before the start of next season to fill the Etihad as much as possible when the capacity increases to 62,000.

It's like most things, so let's be greedy and charge more instead of seeing it the other way, let's sell the ticket cheaper, and more people will attend

#costofgreedcrisis

It's simple, give local schools kids free tickets to attend accompanied by 2 adults for say a tenner apiece.

This current squad is not good enough to sell out 60k plus home tickets game after game.

If the powers that be think they can, then they are deluded.

Even Peps great Barcelona team had tickets that were very cheap for the normal folk.

Atmosphere is created by City fans and not Corporate folk wanting a potted meat butty, to touch base with their working class roots.

Didn't think the atmosphere was too bad tonight. The worry is that it was a reaction to the almost unbelievably poor level of ref and assistants rather than inspired play from City.

The club need to take a bit of inspiration from Bradford with their £5 campaign for all tickets.

Now I'm not suggesting the club would ever do this, but it's just a suggestion.

Something like:

£30 for all Category A games
£20 for all Category B games
£10 for all Category C games

I guarantee you if they started doing this, within a year we'd be selling out 62,000 seats for every single game.

They need to face up to the fact that to win their core fanbase back they may need to sacrifice a bit of matchday revenue.

Maybe, but I think I just enjoy the experience of supporting City. Coming on here after a game and it's like people are forced to partake in this thing that they clearly loathe and makes them miserable.
While I know what you mean, it’s hard to stay positive on nights like tonight. I was looking forward to it on the journey there, but sitting in a stadium that’s only 70% full due to no shows and among ‘supporters’ who can’t be arsed to make a noise and then leave well before the final whistle is enough to suck the life out of a lot of us.
