Atmosphere yesterday

The early Saturday kick offs are usually poor atmosphere wise, the notable exception being the Arsenal game in December.

Also not very fair to saints fans.

There's always an excuse though, early kick off times, the opposition being crap, not enough away fans...... We are in a title run in we should be getting behind the team, like we used to do.

Not having all this Maine road was silent and the atmos there wasn't good. It was miles better than the Etihad, we've had about 3 or 4 really amazing atmospheres at our ground now, over the course of about 6 years. Maine road was better in terms of everyone joining in and a better sustained atmosphere, ie we sung we no matter what, not just when we were 4 - 0 up like now. Some games were quiet but imagine being at Maine road now in a title run in

Take off your Supp. Number.. Maniac.

Excuses, Excuses, Excuses.

Many Blues (including myself) will sing regardless of kick off times, who we're playing and so on.

Irritates me saying this as I'm like a broken record but - Safe Standing. Cheaper Tickets, Easier to stand with Mates.

All will be factors in improving the Atmosphere at City.

Why?

It will encourage those once dedicated blues who refuse (or can't afford) to pay for tickets, who watch every match every weekend in the same Pubs.

Ticket Exchange System at mcfc.co.uk is desperately needed.
Doesn't take much resources for City to code their own.

Many Blues would rather leave their seat empty than use that piece of shit legal touting website ViaNoGo.

As much as the club try to brainwash, offering us free pies and forcing us to use that shit website, we won't use it.

I'd rather give my seat out for FREE, as many other blues did to me back when I couldn't afford a ticket.

I wouldn't have thought a ticket exchange would do much for the atmosphere, although it is a great idea generally.

There were 40,000+ there yesterday regardless of any empty seats and the atmosphere was poor. Having a few extra hundred fans in won't make much difference.

I personally think that some fans don't realise how important we can be to the team in the title run in. Some fans will always be quiet and not sing which is fine, but those in the 'singing areas' need to get behind the team, it could be the difference between the title and not. The players yesterday were showing how much they wanted some vocal support.

Maybe the fans should get paid as much as the players do for this much needed vocal support.

The loudest gets 300k a week

After all TV loves the atmosphere and we pay to give it to them.

Time for us to be paid instead.

I was really lucky to go to the Hamburg v Leverkeusen game on Friday and even with all of the usual caveats (relegation, Friday night etc.) the atmosphere was amazing!

What really impressed me was:
- Safe standing seats: people had mentioned these a lot and having seen them for myself in person I think they're amazing!
- they constantly pumped drums through the PA system which really seemed to help get people going and helped maintain a great atmosphere. Fans were jumping to the beat for the majority of the game
- having a beer at my seat, was like going to a rugby game!
- there was an app where you could scan in the back of your ticket and a few minutes later a guy with a massive basked of pretzels would turn up

I've loved going to all of the stadiums that I've been to in the UK for various different reasons but the Hamburg stadium was so impressive - the Millennium Stadium for football.

Obviously we can't fix the beer thing, safe standing seats are years away but we can at least start using the PA system more effectively throughout the game. We chuck Blue Moon through it before the game when everyone is still drinking in the concourse and it's almost pointless but I love hearing it. Brits are reserved characters in the most, so when the stadium is quiet I get the impression that people don't want to stand up and sign or shout because they'll be the only one - you can see this because when a goal or great moment happens everyone joins in. Get something going through the PA system and each person that wants to sing throughout the game that wouldn't normally because it's too quiet won't feel so inhibited - that's all we need!
