That's the thing isn't it? The way the Quran is interpreted by Jihadis. They outright say that it is a fundamentalist religion where all infidels shall be killed. You can look back at the genocides of Berbers, Assyrians, Armeinans and Greeks by the Ottoman Empire in the name of Islam...even the very first years of Islam saw the Meccan 'pagans' being talked about with "but when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war)". They believe this and many other sentences in the book to be telling them that to be Jihadi is what Islam is supposed to be. Others might well interpret it differently but they believe what they read to Quran as to be exactly what Muhammed wanted of Islam.
Here's the thing. Clearly there is going to be Muslims who aren't terrorists who are just normal people. And if you talk to them about isis they say they do not represent islam. So far so good. But then, they say everything is Allah's will, including the walkway collapse at mecca a few months ago and I imagine they will say the same about tonight's attacks, that doesn't sit right in my opinion.
