Attacks in Paris

However, I strongly urge you to not be taken in by those with agendas. For example [leaving out the 'Z' word], you might not be in fear of Hindu violence but many Muslims in India are. There are regular, state-supported massacres. The Hindus are always second [after the Zs] on the terrorist bandwagon. That's why there are still over 900k Indian soldiers occupying Kashmir and trying to bring in more Hindus to 'ethnic cleanse' the area, much as the Chinese have done in TIbet. Of course, Buddhism is a trendy religion and the Dalai Lama really cool. Personally, I think that he is a lying, despicable parasite. Anyway, you'll get Hollywood stars meditating for Tibet. Not one of them ever even mentions occupied Kashmir or [heaven forbid] the continued genocide of the Palestinian nation.

You need to think more in the round, my friend. Personally, I wish the whole world has a Western, liberal, democratic culture that allowed free expression of religion and atheism. Sadly, that's just a dream. I'll defend Western values tot he death. However, I will not meekly sit by and accept the lies, hypocrisy and greed of the powerful and their acolytes, be they Christian, Jewish, Atheist [say, China] or Muslim.
I doubt anyone is taken in by your obvious agenda

they have hijacked a perfectly peaceful religion Islam for their own nefarious political gain.

New Order came on stage in London with a tribute to the French and Hot Chip have just played in Paris and done exactly the same.
By attacking football and pop concerts it was an attack on our culture. I am glad we carried on and rightfully shown solidarity. It really could have been a lot of us on here that were at a pop concert or football match that got targeted.

Even the one everyone loves to hate, Morrissey, had a message, played to a French flag backdrop to "I'm throwing my arms around Paris at a gig in Chile.

And what are these comparisons with Christians about too?

Other than both religions cleaning up on the murder stakes (Christianity may even possibly be ahead on that score)

They are both as fucked up as each other..it's not a competition

The Government has published advice on what people should do in the event of a "firearms or weapons attack" in a public place

According to the National Counter Terrorism Security Office, victims of a Paris-style shooting should attempt to run away from the scene first, as long as doing so would not expose them to greater danger

If running isn't a possibility, the next option should be to hide from attackers and find cover from gunfire – instead of lying down in full view

However, the NaCTSO guidance warns bullets can go through brick, glass, wood and metal, meaning it is safest to hide behind heavily reinforced walls

State the bleeding obvious

Our own knee jerk reaction to these disgusting attacks is a far bigger threat to our freedom and security than Islamic (and, yes, it IS Islamic) State

Agree wholeheartedly with sadiq, thanks for that gelsons dad
I follow him on twitter and he engages. I like him a lot.

Which is more than I can say for @Gelsons Dad with his nonsense such as 'some Muslims have begun to talk about the underlying problems'.

How dare you patronise and insult us with such childish slurs. You write as if we are all uneducated idiots and/or are in this grand conspiracy that the WUMs on here like to talk about. For my family, the only underlying problem is not being treated, by some, as equals in the society in which we live.

It's a huge pity that millions of people throughout the world remain stuck in a religious time warp and can quote, word for word, some passage that suits their beliefs or prejudices. When questioned about the meaning of these passages, that person may say it's 'literal' or 'metaphorical', depending on the slant that person wishes to put on the poor soul who is getting religious earache. My own take on these bible bashing types when they wish to push their opinions on me is to argue back. Their case is that they speak the truth because it is 'written' in their choice of holy book but I argue back that their book was written centuries ago when education was for a select few, and was religious rather than scientific based at that. The writers of these holy passages were unknown and the happenings that were written about were witnessed, if at all, by very few, and were spread by word of mouth and subject to all sorts of distortion and glorification with certain celebrities being promoted from human to godlike status. Christianity was as guilty as any for that, but with the Renaissance being around 400 years ago, it has finally been shaken off as a controlling factor. We used to burn witches at the stake for curing sick people when prayer failed. They were said to be doing the Devil's work yet nowadays we might call it homeopathy. So there we have it and we wait for Islam to enjoy its own renaissance. Hopefully it won't take centuries this time.

Bang On

The problem with a lot of this "who speaks out" and when and where is, even in this digital age, we only get the story we are given by our news media, most of us have no clue what some islamic countries are saying on a daily basis about all this, only what is reported with our media's angle.Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called the attacks a "crime against humanity" and Qatari Foreign Minister Khaled al-Attiyah, who said they were "heinous"Indonesian President Joko Widodo, leader of the world's most populous Muslim nation, said that "Indonesia condemns the violence that took place in Paris." Kuwaiti leader Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Sabah called the attacks "criminal acts of terrorism which run counter to all teachings of holy faith and humanitarian values". yet none of these quotes were part of the world leaders one in our press. If christianity, hinduism, buddhism had terrorist cults causing such death and angony, I wouldn't condem all christians/hindus/bhuddists as being the same.

It is very unhelpful to vilify all Islam for the acts of these cunts, and in a time like this we need our media to be completely ballanced and report facts and not stir up rhetoric to suit their own agendas

Look at yesterday in asia and russia it's reported that Putin has named 40 countries, with some being members of the G20 (Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States) that are dealing with Di'ash, but not a thing is reported as this would be embarrassing western countries and allies so we hear nowt about it as it doesn't fit the Russia isn't helping narative. the only way we will defeat these cunts is if all agenda's, proxy wars and bullshit by the main world players is put to one side and they just get on with beating them.
You can find all the info somewhere, so it's right that people repeat it if it's not being reported widely enough, as you just have done in your post.

I do think that the "people blame all Muslims" line is being overstated. In my experience, very few people actually see it that way.

ISIS are enemies to everyone, even muslims. There is absolutely nothing Islamic about them. They've already killed thousands of muslims bombing mosques in Kuwait, Saudi during times when own Muslims were praying. As I've always said, religions promote peace, it's these sick extremists who use religions for their own agenda.

By the record, the Paris attackers were druggies, alcoholics, etc.

@RichardDunneOwnGoal Sorry but I don't have time for an endless debate. There are far right Hindus that commit atrocities against Muslims, as do Mulsims against Hindus. You need to read about the occupation of Kashmir since 1947 and the denial of self-determination by India. However, I don't feel comfortable deataing Hinduism with a Hindu coming back to respond. There are a few on this forum.

One point that stood out was the religion without borders point. Judaism, Hinduism and the Russian Orthodox Church are three that stand out as religions based on defined borders and ethnic purity. As I say, I don;t want to get into those debates now. Cheers.

Buddhism..now there's a nice and pleasant religion..my other half is a Buddhist..why can't you all convert to that..can you imagine a Buddhist running round with guns and explosives? Well I could imagine my Mrs doing that..being an Aries woman but hey ;-)

You are not acknowledging that it is not 0.0001 percent. It is a significant percent of the Muslim population who have sympathy for such attacks. No one knows exactoy but it is certainly not as small as you are suggesting. Many Muslim people have acknowledged this in the media even today. Also when was the last Christian terrorist attack??
Go on, as a treat I'll go along with your deranged rantings and prented that that they are based in reality. So. what we gonna do, mate? Imprison, say, a million UK citizens? Have a civil war? Have them all executed? I know what Red Ken would say about you. ;)

well there are plenty of buddhists in burma killing muslims to be fair, but yeah my wife, kids and in laws are buddhist and very kind n respectful, my mother in law is the most selfless person I have ever met and a devout buddhist, who goes to the temple every day to help the monks

Just because you ignore the shit in the Quran it doesn't mean everyone does.
