Wait until we are averaging 60,000 in 3 years time and 70,000 + in ten years time? What are they going to say then? Yesterday was a momentous day in our clubs history. The new stand changed the whole dynamics of our stadium. I have been going on about the impact the change in the acoustics that's the roof material would have for 18 months. I have to be honest yesterday was the day our stadium started to feel like a football stadium rather than a converted athletics stadium. That might seem extreme but I think a fair comment. The extra 2/3 rows at the bottom reduce the bowl effect and the noise stays in the stadium rather than escaping. I cannot wait for the North End to start. It was great to see so many different fans and new faces there where I sit as well. Imagine an end that holds 12,000 in a single tier. That's what we want at the north - move City Square to the Collar site and it will get even better. Yesterday wasn't just a football game - it was an experience - a pleasure to witness. Let the others go on about finding one empty seat or the minute we get a crowd below 50,000 - ignore it - it is fear. The end looked even better on TV. I love the fact the design of the stadium is future proofed. Its only going to get better.

Great post and the new rows at the front added to the new look of the stadium....looked good on tv last night. This could be the start of something special here and City can make sure it happens with a GENEROUS PRICING POLICY....over to you MR SORRANO.

Can't wait to see any new designs for the north stand. Hopefully if we have a single massive tier it's built in such a way it could easily be converted to accommodate safe standing eventually, I.e. big enough concourses and exits to handle 20k+ fans

Thing is we sold out with tickets going at £58 so I don't see a reduction in price, unfortunately, as I think £40 would be a decent price.

Is the plan to make the roof from the same kind of more reflective material as the new stand rather than (hopefully not) match the huge mass panel things in the old roof ?

My ears are still recovering from the noise yesterday.
In response to the Chelsea fans tweet regarding atmosphere having to be reliant on away support.... if you were there yesterday you will know we were non whatsoever reliant on noise from them.it was bouncing in 112 right next to the away fans with some Chelsea lads becoming frustrated, threatening to fight us, offering us to meet outside for a ruckus.
Remember that short assed chelsea muppet with scars on his face?
He was sofunny, acting like some tough guy.
They were silent, shocked at how easily dismantled they were.

Yes - if you look at the "old roof" - it has millions of small holes in it! (not leaks!) and absorption material to allow noise to escape. It is a fundamental of the new design that the roof materials are reflecting noise back into the new end.

Ace post Worsleyweb. Few have seen the plans for the collar site, but would shifting City Square there have any effect on them (I have it in my head that it will consist of a family leisure attraction, retail etc)? Of course if the Asda rumours turn out to be true we'll have a fair bit more land to play with.
Has anybody listed that video from the new stand? Looked like a European footballing behemoth.
