Its defining and completely reshaping the club and its image, worldwide.
North stand expansion will again take it to another level.
I think it becomes self perpetuating. The improved atmosphere and the increased attendance coupled with the brilliance of the team will attract more and more new fans especially kids. In terms of comparisons with the Hamburg game, yes Hamburg was a much more sustained noise but the sheer loudness before kickoff yesterday made my hair stand on end. We've not had that sort of loudness since Maine Road. I posted yesterday that the South Stand reminded me of the North Stand in 1971-72 when it was newly opened and terracing (for one season only). That was the only time I can really ever remember us having "an end". When we extend the North Stand I hope that eventually becomes "our end". The only downside of the South Stand expansion will be cup games when most of it will be away fans. I think that could count against us. That's my only gripe otherwise as everybody has said the expansion has lifted us to another level.
