Attendances

I'm really looking forward to today and being part of the biggest crowd ever at the Etihad / CMS.

It will also be the highest attendance I've been in for a City match, apart from Wembley, of course.

MCFC: making history and I can't fucking wait.

I have just done a quick search for the last home match that was above 55k and came up with the 63K vs the Rags Nov 1971. Is that right? If so today will be the biggest home crowd in my lifetime (just!)
 
Sunderland 54k+ 1973

Derby County 55k+ 1972

The Scum 63K+ 1971

Likely to be just below the Sunderland attendance 54,478

Charlton was officially 47k+ but was under stated by about 10k.
 
Do we lose many seats to segregation? I am wondering what capacity will be for teams that bring just one tier. Chelsea plus 300 seats in the West Stand plus segregation gains of 200? Do we lose any seats due to segregation or is segregation achieved entirely by the wide aisles?

The covered seats that used to serve as segregation have been replaced by a wide aisle lined by barriers. So don't think the number of seats will change because of segregation anymore

Indeed. I think we can almost certainly say that Charlton '85 will be the last time we got over 55000 whatever the figure for the "official" crowd was that day.
 
54,300 and odd! Bloody incredible. One of my favourite ever days following city today. A huge day in our clubs history. Great to see new fans and old alike.

What an amazing day. Let's crack on with the other end.

I only heard it at the match - it was 54 thousand 300 and something! Can't find it msyelf. Worked out there are 240 seats still to go in. So it will hold 54500 plus

Cheers man, I get hooked on attendances from the Maracana , Hampden Park......etc
