Attending my first ever City game on 26th Oct

Quick heads up: you lot made me convince to go to the National Football Museum on Friday, and looking at the pub, I could then just have a walk in the park and check the Cathedral and/or some nearby pub. Someone mentioned the Sinclair Oyster bar, which based on the reviews, is quite a polarizing place. But I'd be nice to try out a beer I never tried yet. And on principle alone, I find the no-phone and classic old school policy interesting.

However, one review says you cannot pay by card, the other says you can... Can you? And even if you do, I guess not with your phone then? :D

(Or even on Sunday, since the museum is open on Sundays, but the library isn't. I don't even know why I am so adamant visiting the library, and already feel bad that I was accused of being posh on here, when I was only trying to be polite to take on the advice to visit the John Rylands too. :D)
Hope you have a great time in Manchester. It’s a very friendly and lively city. I had a fantastic time in Budapest some years back. I went to watch Honved purely because City had played there in 1970. It was a fantastic day out. Honved were playing a team called Siofuk. We ended up at a party with Honved fans who lived beside the stadium!

You weren't a teenage armchair Honved fan

So, the 3-day prior subscription thingy with Wizzair worked and now I should be in Birmingham on Friday early. Now I have to figure myself out a 2 day accomodation somewhere in the area, that is not a total rip off. :) Should be easy for the weekend, by the sounds of it...

As for train, it looks like CrossCountry is the way to go straight from Birmingham to Piccadilly.

You can pay on your phone at sinclairs , if weather is OK it's a nice and cheap pub to sit outside.

My first ever home game was against Southampton. It was over 40 years ago but I will never forget it. Enjoy your day!
JCL ;)

Anyone's first game is special. I was at one of the cup games last year, displaced from SS3 to SS1 and a bloke came in with his kid, the little lad saw the pitch through the entrance from the concourse and lost his shit....it was a brilliant moment.

If you haven’t already, book your train asap so youhave a chance of a reserved seat, although it may be too late now. The Birmingham to Manchester train is almost always packed and standing room only, a nightmare journey, hence if you can get a seat booked it massively improves the journey as you could be standing the whole way otherwise
