Audi Car Thieves Footage - Stockport

Personally, I would never dream of strategically placing weapons around my flat, not only does it sound paranoid but if you go at a burglar who has a weapon then you're asking for it. Burglars in the vast majority of cases are opportunists looking for valuables, they're not looking to hurt people unless they have to.

Just give them what they want and think about catching them later, don't be a hero, a car is not worth your life. The guy in this case with the kids has done the right thing.

My friend lost family jewellery and items of incredible sentimental value when his house was burgled. Why even give them what they want? Give them what they deserve!

Yes, do the right thing. Give them what they deserve. A locked door. Or two, even.

Crowbar a front door open? If its possible then get a proper door.

Someone in this story certainly deserves that, at the very least.

-- Wed Jun 13, 2012 6:36 am --

I think I should add, KNIVES? You think it's a good idea to use a knife? FFS, get a good bat or a decent length of chain. A broken arm or leg will do nicely.

Although it's an unfortunate situation to be in, and I really feel for people who are forced into it, no possession, sentimental or otherwise, is worth the risk of getting stabbed to death by some thug.

I'm sure family members that have passed jewellery and other items down the line would rather you let them have it than see you dead for the sake of a gold necklace.

The chances of these Burglars wanting to stab someone to death is remote. Were these Lads carrying knives?

I suspect not. The crowbar is an easily hid weapon...not out of place in an automobile, for instance. Perhaps it's a premeditated move on their part to not be caught with a knive.

In the US for instance some burglars will use unloaded guns. The threat appears the same to the victim, but they can then argue that they had no intention to hurt anyone.

How do you know they weren't? Knives are a big issue in this country and in the heat of the moment people can use them without thinking. I'm not saying they did or they didn't, all I'm saying is that as long as it remains a possibility it's wiser not to take the risk and attack them.

I use paint tins on string to protect me,also strategically placed toy cars and i heat all my door handles up before i sleep.

If they ever come for my car they can have the keys, it's only a car. I leave my keys at the bottom of the stairs every night because I don't want people wandering the house looking for them with my mrs and kids asleep upstairs.
