I've seen them quite a few times even in the city here. Always enjoy watching them, and all other light displays mother nature puts on 'round here.
Let me know what day you are due in to Kirkenes. I'm the previous stop. You don't stop for long here, but if I'm not doing much that day, I'll get on board and say hello.Norb said:We're going in search of the Aurorae for Christmas and New Year on a Hurtigruten round trip from Bergen to Kirkenes and back.

Aye, that looks right. Seems like you've got a 24-hour stop in Trondheim for Christmas. Not a bad place to stop! See you on 29 Dec. You'll probably be stuffing yourselves full of breakfast at that time of the morning (0730), so if you see someone wander in to the restaurant area, wearing a City scarf, it'll be me. Have a good trip, and hope the weather's kind to you. Those big ships can roll around a bit! Hope you've got loads of dosh for all the extra trips they offer at each port... It will be a real experience - you set off from a place where you'll see the sun, then by the time you get up here, you'll have left the sun far behind and below the horizon. It's not dark like night, though, more like an overcast day. Hope the Lights shine for you - they've been rehearsing this evening.Norb said:We reckon it should be the 29th, but just to double check we're on the Finnmarken leaving Bergen on the 22nd.another generation said:Let me know what day you are due in to Kirkenes.
