Australia & Novak Djokovic case

I was simply referring to didsyburyblu's point that he should have been isolating after his test on December 16th. In relation to that point (and that point only), the COVID protocols in the country of origin absolutely do matter. It has nothing to do with Australia's requirements.

I'd happily see him deported, just pointing out that he MIGHT not have broken any rules by not isolating after his test. Equally, of course, he could be a complete lying twat who knowingly put other people in danger.
I'd have thought that if he did indeed test positive then there should be a record of that positive test somewhere as I highly doubt that the world's most famous tennis player wouldn't report a positive Covid test. If he can come up with the evidence of testing positive in December then that's enough to get him into Australia. As far as I can tell though, he hasn't been able to come up with that simple piece of evidence as it seems he's only being allowed in because the authorities didn't follow the correct protocols.

The only way he was going to play in Australia was if he got COVID in December. Could he have deliberately got it?
Or perhaps he could find someone willing to help their greatest ever sporting hero with a bit of documentation, which would of course explain why he seemingly had no problems attending various public events after his supposed positive test.

I obviously wasn't privy to the court case but this is what one of the reports says:

"The government had been attempting to argue that Djokovic did not have a valid medical exemption to bypass rules which state anyone entering Australia has to be vaccinated against Covid.

But the case fell apart after the court was told Djokovic did have an exemption that had been certified by 'a professor and an eminently qualified physician' which stated he had been infected with Covid on December 16. The same exemption was approved by a medical panel set up by Victoria state, where the Open is being played."

Be surprised if the Australian Gov back down, I suspect they will go with the weight of public opinion which seems to be against letting him in on a technicality?

I don't normally watch tennis, apart from that young girl who won last year can't remember when I last watched any.

If he does get on court it'll be great for the TV ratings.

I've always tried to catch his majors matches - he is great viewing as he is the most determind, strong minded sports players i've ever witnessed. i've always loved him so it's a shame he has gone down this anti vax route.
