Australia & Novak Djokovic case

Feral cats are by definition not domesticated , trying putting a lead on them or even getting near them
A lot of Feral cats are escaped domestic cats. They turn feral and live off small native animals like the bandicoot.
If owners stop letting their cats roam that means less dead animals and less feral cats.
Owners are to blame really, they get a pet cat and chuck it out to roam.
That local council are trying to lessen the amount of cats killing native animals like Bilbies.

And take it back to the start of this thread. Foreigner tells aussies they are wrong !!!! I doubt the residents are moaning about this measure they are proud of the wild areas on their doorstep.

I know that Australia is very particular about protecting their wildlife/plant life etc as, quite often, the species isn't found anywhere else
My aunt was even forbidden from taking her dinner table there when she emigrated, due to the wood it was made out of.
Might sound bizarre to us but there is a good reason behind it.

I'm guessing that was quite a while ago, we took wooden furniture, they just inspected it. People take wooden things from Bali, Thailand all the time, sometimes they treat it at customs if it looks dodgy.
I've imported quite a lot of guitars so I know the rules about wood :)

From customs...
Most wooden items are allowed into Australia if they are free from bark, insects and signs of insect damage (such as borer holes) or any other contamination. To check for insect damage look closely at wooden items for holes and sawdust. Wooden items must be declared on arrival and inspected.
