Australia's most senior Catholic charged with sex offences

Forget about explaining this, ste..... I've studied the area for over 10 years and worked with countless perpetrators and victims, it's an area that is far to complex in terms of understanding and I'm trained to do so..

The reality will be in genetics, however, this takes years and and years of study, generations in fact. It has been proposed by researchers at California state, much like your assertion that it is 'preference', that it can be defined by genetic make-up....

anyway, it's a long, quite daunting subject which I won't be explaining on my day off

As for Pell, Dawkins exposed this eeejit a few years back on Q&A in Australia, make your own minds up but......

How can grown up adult people still believe this utter nonsense about the invisible man in the sky?

These same people are Athiestic to the other circa 10,000 gods who humanity made up, but, their one is the real deal? Unfortunately, every other person who grew up with their version thinks the same.

In Chritianity there is the Catholic church and 43,000 other Protestant versions. All claiming that believing in Jeezy isn't enough, if you don't follow their interpretation you're burning in hell.

Penn comes across as a nasty piece of work, as well as incredibly thick. If we can't explain it then God done it. Well God used to be credited with putting the Earth at the centre of a six day universe, then science showed that was a load of shite. There are countless things similar, Darwinism probably the heaviest blow to how humanity and life itself began.

I wonder if God will intervene with Penn and give all his accusers amnesia? I don't think he cares much for children anyway, as he is quite happy to see 10m of them die each year from hunger related disease and not lift a fucking finger. Childhood cancer would suggest a pattern so you never know.

All to pray for.

I've had to take a few steps back over the last few years in terms of attributing ones intellect to belief systems... there are a great number of lecturers I've come across who blow my mind in terms of knowledge/intelligence, however, whenever the topic transfers to theology or such, I find myself walking away... debate is fine but the argument is almost always shifted to meet there agenda (imo), in fact Pell does just this in that video, he has the audacity to argue with an evolutionary mastermind on that the Catholic Church now accepts evolution, however, god only intervened when the brain was suitable enough to comprehend the Holy Spirit...

Kiss my nutsack...

Have all the Aussies and the Catholics apologised yet?

They should.

Religion is poison full stop whether you're a follower of the Prophet or Jesus.

There is quite clearly and has been for a period of time a serious issue in the Catholic Church which they don't seem committed to changing.

However I can see many on here trying to compare criticisms of both religions and I'd ask anyone to seriously ask themselves which of Christianity and Islam is a greater threat to society at present?

Doesn't surprise me.

What irritates me is you don't see these RWNJ types with big youtube followings who regularly criticise The Prophet Mohammed and the Quran, citing the incidents of the Moslem men who have sexually exploited girls here in The UK, brandishing the whole religion as being peadophilic of some sort.
Yet fail to utter a word, remaining in silence to their big youtube audiences when it happens to be White, Christian types abusing our children.

You don't see the Stone Island wearing British Defenders on our streets protesting outside Christian churches, harassing Church leaders and so on.

Back on subject, you may disagree with my view on paedophilia here, but I believe it is, or has to be an actual sexual preference.
Something that we need to acknowledge more in society in order to protect our younger generations.

I'm attracted to women, some other men are attracted to men, some women find younger boys attractive, and other men actually find little children attractive, seeing them as sexual objects.... Like i would see a voluptuous woman beautiful and sexually desirable, they see the same in a child.

Disagree?

I'm in no way condoning their actions, merely trying to understand why they do this.
It simply can't be put down to being a sick bastard, I mean many people risk their whole lives, marriages, everything, even relationships with their own children, in order to gain sexual fulfillment.

Why?
For me it's because it's an actual sexual preference, like I'm Heterosexual.

Solution?
Haven't they developed some Robots which resemble children or something which allow one to do their business with the robot?
I'm sure I saw an article on this a few years ago, could've been an April fool prank though.

Update: https://www.newscientist.com/article/2099607-could-sex-robots-and-virtual-reality-treat-paedophilia/

so much to get through best crack on. The bible i think blames the devil for the weaknesses of Humans, where by the Islamic one says its ok, get on with it, if it's good enough for Mo, it's good enough for you. (my guess would be the death rates and life expectancy in the land of shit and flies was so great getting kids knocked up was a decent survival trait, yet Islam makes christians look positively modern thinking when it means moving with the times) Whereas in good old christianity denying the pios sex created a perverse mindset so praying on little boys for sexual gratification was a way of satisfying natural urges yet remaining in a position of power (who believes the young now, never mind back then) over time it becomes a little peado ring, and if you get caught you can say how much you regret being weak and you will use it to convince those just how powerful Satan is, so make sure you bring your cute little boys to Sunday school.

Causes? who knows but we are at core just a very clever Ape and in terms law and social norms are brand new relatively. Watched a funny animals youtube clip the other day and some little monkey tried to back scuttle a cat that was just minding it's own business, all the monkeys mates were there to and didn't give a flying fuck. Base urges are in all of us at some level and controlling them on a subconscious level is pretty much the norm, that said a little wiring issue in the brain can lead to a lack of this self policing behavior.

In short, like Vegas, what happens in Mosque, Church, Synagogue stays in place of worship and we can deal with it without bringing in those that don't understand god

this guy is an absolute cretin. Who knows whether he is guilty or not but you wont have to look far amongst them to find someone who has diddled.
Interesting that the Australian census data out yesterday showed "no religion" as the biggest group people identify with in terms of faith. Surely this form of medieval mind control has had its day and the majority of people realise how ridiculous it all is.

However I do feel sorry for the genuinely good people who believe and attend church where it might be all they have. No doubt they will be asked to put more money in the collection plate this week whilst the church as an organisation retains its tax free status the dirty fuckers

I think the problem is that paedophilia is a label given to a broad area covering the abuse of very young children up to the sort of thing that Adam Johnson was doing, which is to try to have sex with someone just under the age of consent. And while morally, they might fall under the same area, in terms of biological attraction, they are completely different. There's also the issue of people who are just turned on by power and for priests in the 60s and 70s, it wouldn't be a surprise if this was a major part of it. They were basically untouchable in some countries, particularly Ireland.

I find this thoroughly depressing when this happens. It's hard to muster the two thought processes (we'll create a hypothetical neurological scientist who also has deep religious views)...it just doesn't compute with me. Some cases it's perhaps emotional (belonging to a group, in these cases a religious group) and I've seen that at play and perhaps also the older generation who were indoctrinated from an early age and are not part of the internet generation (an environment to explore alternate views). In other cases, I'm just bewildered.

At the same time I have these paradoxical moments where I'd love to see the back end of religion (and you get the sense the party is coming to an end, the lights are up and it's a bright, secular dawn) but then enter a church on holiday (and this could be the UK or somewhere like Italy) and having that sense of history and beauty of the architecture and spine tingling choral/chamber music. You can see why it was (and still is) powerful. Laser guided parlour tricks.

I'd be surprised if he actually comes to Australia to face trail
No doubt there will be some kind of health issues making it impossible to travel.
