I always wonder what body language experts think whenever you see people protesting their innocence.

There is quite clearly and has been for a period of time a serious issue in the Catholic Church which they don't seem committed to changing.

However I can see many on here trying to compare criticisms of both religions and I'd ask anyone to seriously ask themselves which of Christianity and Islam is a greater threat to society at present?

Religion is like many things, but let me use money, for the example...

There is the power of good with money; you can live well with it, you can help others with it and you can live a life of contentment.

There's the power of evil with money; you can think it's the only thing that matters, you can act like your view is the only view and you can be utterly corrupted by it.

I'm not particularly religious by any stretch, but I don't have a definitive answer for existence of a Higher Power or not, because I don't pertain to know what's outside my Bubble anymore than Hawkins or The Pope. Hawkins' arguments wins are because he debates with people that have a 'literal' viewpoint.

One's knowledge is contained to the learning one is limited to.

So, for example, if 'The Bible' was written at a time where expression was limited, then that's what people learned. So, if the universe was created in 'six days' as some followers believe, they interpret that in the literal sense. Just a smidgen of the arguments against that view would be 'from what perspective are they presuming the length of a 'day' when they are talking about a Higher Power's version of 'Time'?

Anyway, I'm not going to debate the Christian/ Muslim religion's flaws as I would be here all day!!

I can't be arsed today, I have Jap porn to watch!

Oh, by the way I'm glad the dirty priest has been charged and I hope The Pope makes him go and face the music! That would be awesome!!

I can see hundreds of priests jumping from a high point, should the charges are ever upheld!
 
I am not in the slightest bit religious, but the main reason why many Priests etc are found to be paedophiles is because that is where the Catholic church worked and actually did a lot of good for kids. Unfortunately paedophiles are attracted to where kids are and probably some people are attracted to the priesthood because of self doubt about their sexuality.
Yes there has been a cover up by the church but also in many other places such as local authority care. Some of the carers were doing a lot of good though and it's a shame to take them all with the same brush.

I really don't know what your point is but you don't understand the same outside of your bubble than Hawkins does or you'd be the award winning and world renowned scientist.

Science can only test what it knows; therefore a 'bubble'. If that 'bubble' is confined to the space that is Earth then it cannot test for unknown properties outside of it's learned knowledge. Which means it cannot extrapolate for compounds, chemical or physical, it hasn't come across, but it can assume the compounds that exist here, exists elsewhere but in an unknown form.

That allows for a 'bubble'.

That would be false.

However, Hawkins would agree about known elements that cannot be tested... simply because there are no means to test them especially considering the impact of unknown variables upon a compound. One can hazard a guess about almost anything beyond this world.

Ah, but then you would be taking a 'leap of faith' which would be tricky in his argument.
