All this makes Chelsea's sacking of Avram Grant even more inexcusable than it already was.
Grant is the only manager in Chelsea's history to lead the club to a European Cup or Champions League Final, and were it not for a botched penalty by John Terry, he could easilly have won it.
During his season in charge of Chelsea, Grant had the best record of any manager in the Premier League and it was only down to Mourinho's average start that Chelsea never won the League Title.
