Away ends and tourists

Worst away end for years and it looked like the United Nations. Worse still, we had to stand by plastic half and half scarf Liverpool fans who have bought tickets from the 'can't be arsed brigade' because of kick off time on NYE cashing in on their cheap £30 away ticket from their loyalty/seasonal hospitality entitlement. Sponsors are definitely getting tickets as well. I think at least half of the away section had no entitlement to be there on the basis of loyalty, We even got interviewed by the Premier League TV productions because we were the only fans they had seen all day in City shirts 30 mins before kick off - absolutely disgraceful. Anyone who sells on their ticket to these muppets should have their points zeroed. Passports and ticket collection has its plus points!

It would to be fair but it's currently a joke. Fewer and fewer tickets available to fans on the LP system as more go to corporates and loads on the LP system just sell on their tickets to any old ****, City fan or not or even fans of the opposition.

No one on LP manages to get whole rows. It would be someone with closer connections to the club that does that, and it happens at most London games or big games.

Lots of others are feeling the same apathy as me now. One Blue from my local was home and away for years but no longer attends. It's evident he's still a fan and just watches in which pub is showing the match. I suspect I'll be joining him before too long.

Looks like a footie scarf to me but fcuk knows what team...

Saw that guy with his young lad, was a Hajduk Split scarf.

Wasn't the only one in there, saw dozens of Spanish and Arabic descent on the concourse before the game. Then Chinese taking photos on selfie sticks just to my left.

A European family came in and placed a blanket down on the seats, then more Europeans arrived and said hi to them, so possibly from an overseas supporters club. Large group of fellas took a selfie with Vinny at half time, tried to show it me as he walked past and spoke what sounded Romanian to me.

Really strange set up in all honesty, and definitely ruins the atmosphere completely. People moan about the likely lads who go mad on the beer and drugs, but without those lads the atmosphere would've been totally non-existent yesterday.

The same people only seem to be at the 'big' aways, didn't see them on a Wednesday night at Swansea earlier in the season. I'm only 23, but there's hundreds of fellas out there who've been going longer than me that would've given a lot to be there yesterday, who simply can't get hold of a ticket. Some simple transparency from the club would make it better, so the average fan knows why they haven't managed to get a ticket. Money means more to them than atmosphere and real fans. And if it's proved to be fellas on high points flogging on to foreign fans willing to pay the extortionate price, then shame on them. The club are gonna miss a trick and lose out on a generation of proper blues - they're already freezing out some of their longstanding fans.

As for Liverpool fans, their opinion on atmosphere is void. The Anfield atmosphere is the biggest myth in football. I heard two chants of 'Liverpool, Liverpool...' yesterday, then they only started singing in injury time once they knew they'd won. Worse than United there for tourists, only place I've seen worse is Barcelona.

It's really really sad to see the way our support has gone.

that is the answer, fans buying and selling on to web sites then been picked up by other fans

The City employee who dealt with my Celtic complaint said that was illegal and they'd take sanctions. I'd expect the club themselves are doing it as a package.

Can't disagree with many of the points made on here but it's pointless just moaning on here - everyone needs to constantly write to the club as individuals to complain. That said, the clubs response is likely to be quite damning when we dont sell out all our tickets for some of the less attractive away games - e.g. mid week in Swansea - maybe even the West Ham game next Friday night.

A mate and I did corporate yesterday, courtesy of my boss, sat amongst the Liverpool fans on the second tire of the Centenary Stand. The food was good, but what struck me, was that there were a good number of tourists from around the World, but not so many that it affected the 'Liverpool Feel', they moan like hell at every decision, make plenty of noise, although they call their players more than I've ever heard at City. I rarely heard the City fans chanting which was a disappointment. I think City need to listen to their fans, comments on here about falling out of love with the game when we are potentially heading for even more success, really saddens me. In effect we are rolling over and letting them win, we have a voice in the 1894 Group, make our voice heard through them. City can have all the corporate seats they want at home as there are plenty to go around, but, reduce ticket prices for average joe at home and leave 95% of away tickets for the loyal travelling fans.
