Away fans can not be moved to where 111 is

Im pretty sure that the main reason the police wont allow the fans to be moved is not becuase of what is inside the stadium but what is outside the stadium.

Having the away fans where they are makes it easy for the police to contain them when they enter and leave the ground. It feeds directly into the coach park and gives them plenty of space for searches etc.

This is the reason.

Which is why I suggest having a Singing Section directly opposite the away fans rather than next to them.

If you want to have banter, put your V's up and poke fun at the Fat bloke then stay where you are.

if you want to sing and back the team - come into the Singing Section (around 140)

This would work superbly as songs can drift into ES 102 and so on.

I keep reading people suggest that the singing section (112-109) should be swapped with the away fans. but this can not happen because of the facilities in that area. there's not enough food or drink bar's, there's no female toilets etc. it will never ever happen so stop trying to suggest it. that is all. great game today

The number of female supporters in the away section is very small and female fans don't drink so no need for female toilets. Set up a couple of burger vans outside the turnstiles with prominent notices, 'LIMITED FOOD OUTLETS INSIDE,' and your problem is solved.

Our vocal section should be 101-111!
Do you mind?
There's people trying to kip in 105. SSSsssshhhhh
Oh, and the day trippers/hospitality mob/Ricky Hatton/Micah's family in the padded hospitality seats at the back

I think I have it figured out now.
The reason why the atmosphere at Maine Road was shit for most of the time after the Kippax last stand was because we had away supporters in the wrong place.
This mean that a block or two of the Kippax Lower and a couple of blocks of the north stand got to sing while the rest of the ground didnt bother.
When we moved to Eastlands, most of those that renewed did so in a similar position to where their seats were at Maine Road, meaning that we still had only a couple of blocks either side of the away fans singing.
Oh wait, one of the best atmospheres at MR after it was made all seated was against Millwall in Keegans promotion season, when there was no away section, but we had an early sending off, a great performance and a home win.
Maybe all we need for a great atmosphere is an early goal for us, or a dodgy sending off against us to rally the troops, well either that or a cull on all city fans over the age of 35.

carnt we just ban away fans

Sadly not, we need their money for FFP, though there are perfectly good seats for them in both the velodrome and the athletics arena.

-- Mon Oct 08, 2012 5:44 pm --

A little 'Off Topic' but I received this communication from the club yesterday. As one of those in Block 222 who got ousted for the VIP/WAGS of Dortmund a big thanks to those who remained nearby and pursuaded the club this wasn't one of their best ideas. I still feel for the guys in the lower section of block 223 who still have to move for the Ajax and Madrid games and the ones in 222/225 who now have to give up their seats for stewards!. All in all, well done Platini...another winner!...

Dear Supporter,

As you may be aware, in all European competitions the Club is required by UEFA to provide up to 200 best available ‘Category 1’ seats to the visiting club for corporate supporters, sponsors and player guests. This agreement is reciprocated when we travel abroad. By UEFA rules, these tickets should be located between the half-way line and the 18 yard box. Following last week’s match against Borussia Dortmund, we have reviewed the location of these seats. For the two remaining UEFA Champions League Group Stage home matches, the visiting supporters will be allocated seats in the lower section of Block 223, below the wheelchair bays. Whilst there are home supporters behind these rows, this is segregated by a wall. A number of stewards will be located on the end of the rows of blocks 222 and 225 to provide further segregation. What does this mean for you?

· All supporters on the UEFA Competition Cup Scheme located in Block 222 will be allocated their usual seat for these two matches with the exception of supporters on the UEFA Competition Cup Scheme who sit in Rows A to G (seats 635-636) who will be allocated the closest available seat. These will not be sold to any supporter, as they will be used to improve the segregation line.

· Supporters on the UEFA Competition Cup Scheme located in Block 223, Rows A to F (seats 641-668), will be re-located in to the best available seats within Block 222.

· Disabled supporters in Block 223, Row H who are on the UEFA Competition Cup Scheme, will be relocated to wheelchair bays in Block 228.

There will also be a greater presence of security and stewarding for these two matches, both in the stand and on the concourse.

We appreciate this may not be the match day experience you are looking for. If this is the case, once you have received your seat confirmation, we would be more than happy to discuss alternative seat options (subject to availability). Please contact a member of the Supporter Services team on 0161 444 1894 (option 1, then option 3) who will be happy to help.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your continued support.

Yours sincerely
