Away Fans In Home Stands

I've sat with away fans several times. And there have been plenty of threads on here before away european games when the main topic has been "how do I get a ticket in the home end?"

So as long as the away fans behave themselves then good luck to them.

Fully agree mate. I have done the same, in fact will be sat with mates in the Gallowgate end at Newcastle next month, as I did last season. And yeah, ones around can tell I am a Manc as soon as I speak. But, I behave, and certainly wouldn't take the piss by wearing a City scarf or colours (Badge on shirt under coat doesn't count, lol)

I understand if they are corporate then. But again, 'no colours' should be advised surely?

My concern is that one day it kicks off royally, and who will be punished? Our club.....

Spanish doesn't necessarily mean Madrid fans, there was a group of four or five on row m or n in 109 last night, and they went mental when Aguero equalised.

Had a couple in 212 not a problem for me but some of the lads weren't happy especially when a blue was turfed out waving a Feyenoord top against Ajax.

Understand the fan waving the Feyenoord top could have been percieved as being inflamatory but wearing a madrid top in home areas is enough to cause problems of it's own.

Well if our own fans bought the tickets it wouldnt be an issue would it. Id rather some foreign fans than thousands of empty seats.

Were some in L2 of the family stand in the end section before the East stand starts. Pointed out to a steward that they should be ejected as they were in the home end. The steward started down the path of we can’t eject them just cos they are Spanish that’s racist. My response “I never said they were Spanish I said they were away fans”. He then went on to say they have a legitimate right to be there as they had purchased tickets. “Blue card holders are they” was my response followed by “Dose the groups age demographics fulfil the criteria set by the club for the purchase of tickets in the family stand”? The steward was well out of his depth at this point and left with the we will keep an eye on them for you.
I guess to get ejected you need to be a city fan in your own seating area but standing.

I'm cool with this, at least in the Euro competitions. Away fans have been dotted around in every home game for our two Champions League campaigns so far. They have always been well behaved and as long as the stewards are aware and it's managed properly I really don't see a problem.

I do think however it would be wrong to allow this to go on for our Prem matches, it just wouldn't work. I couldn't stand the thought of having rags nearby in a derby. It's asking too much for home fans to tolerate.

Lone Madrid fan stood up at very back of CB3, had all the Madrid gear on but was well behaved never celebrated or anything when they scored, steward just asked him to put his coat back on to cover up and left him to stand there
