Away fans / tourists in home sections

Disagree with this. Its just a perk of working for the club.
Loads of business' offer work bonuses and perks for working for them.
As I said yesterday. Anyone who transfers a ticket to anyone with a supporter number and account, they can then email the ticket to whoever they want to be downloaded be it a home, away fan or just someone who wants to go to the game. This is how it happens on the ticketing websites online. You just get emailed the ticket

Just for reference I recently went to the Milan Derby and bought a ticket from a ticketing website.

The process was as follows:

1). Buy the ticket on the website. Advised by seller I would need a CRN number.

2). Register for a CRN card (Milan membership) and provide a series of picture of myself/passport, all passport details.

3) Received email of Milan with my unique CRN number and digital details.

4) Received an email confirming Milan have accepted the transfer of the ticket and a receipt registering it to my new CRN number.

5) Take receipt, CRN number receipt and my passport to the ticket office at the ground, if all correct receive the physical ticket.

I would be curious to know what measures city take when tickets are purchased through a ticketing site.

There are of course no excuses for filling someone in because he got his phone out, bang out of order and I feel really bad for the bloke who will have spent loads of money coming to the game and will probably never do so again.

However, for rationale as to why it happened, tensions have been rising amongst a significant part of our fanbase regarding 'tourists/day trippers/whatever term you want to use' and having opposition fans in our end, particularly in the high-profile games against our rivals and the club have done nothing to resolve those tensions.

I expect some stick for this as it's pure whataboutery and I'm probably not articulating myself particularly well, however despite the club doing nothing wrong in this particular instance, in my opinion had they not taken the piss for the last two years like they have, the lad wouldn't have got the pasting that he did.

Tin hat firmly on.
Fuck all to do with it mate. Tourists, day trippers etc are part of being globally huge. Its a fact of life. Its just cunts being cunts. Brain dead cunts at that. Imagine losing your job your home potentially because some dick head got his phone out.
I will back any blue who gets into a ruck or whatever with opposing fans but not a blue from America.

How long did you have to queue up for to get your ticket?

I went about 10 years ago, needed two tickets. Was pointed in the direction of "official ticket touts & sellers" who were all in an orderly line, looking to sell. Found my seller, he escorted to a club kiosk, the ticket was officially transferred to my ownership, produced my passport, gave me the tickets, piece of piss.

Just for clarification, are you saying that if he was a Liverpool fan who got his phone out then that level of violence from blues would've been justified?

Now I'm not saying that you are saying that but that last line appears to imply it. Personally I think that level of violence is way OTT regardless of who it was who happened to get their phone out but I'm not sure anyone knew he was a City fan from America at the time. Not that that makes it any more excusable of course.

I’ve had 3 grand from other clubs sat in my son’s seat when he couldn’t go and sold it via the club. One West Ham, one Wrexham and one Rangers.
Now, the only iffy one for me was West Ham, but he had a membership and had been to 3 games when he was at work up here. All just liked watching City.
I’ve also had a Dad with his son. He was Villa but son was a full kit wanker and Dad had to bring him.
So, what stops these people who have match day memberships, buying a home end ticket should their ‘first choice team’ play at The Etihad?!

I've been talking to a girl in work who has got a season ticket in ESL1.

She said up to 10 Liverpool fans were removed from the block she sits in.

2 Liverpool fans jumped up when Liverpool scored. It nearly kicked off. City fans got stewards to remove them. Whilst that was going on, other suspected Liverpool fans were pointed out by City fans and removed by stewards.

A perk of working for the club should be access to home games, not our kitmans assistant being able to pick up a couple of tickets for an away day. That is mental.

Quite a few were chucked out of SS1 well before the game had kicked off too. I know someone who witnessed a lot of it. He said 2 of them had scouse accents and were asking if they could be let into the away end. As if that was ever going to happen! Seriously, how fucking thick are some people?

I think we all know the answer to that one. The official touts might be told to sell to City fans only but I doubt if they even mention it.

No allocation to third party agencies would be the first action if it was my choice. However it is claimed these licenced touts help shift tickets for less popular home games and get a share of the away tickets as a reward.
I'd get rid of them altogether and stand or fall on our own merits. It's not as though we need hundreds of ticket office staff to deal with additional in-house sales as 95% are done online.
Agreed.

If the 'less attractive' fixtures were more affordable or incentiveised perhaps young or displaced Mancunians would buy them.

Additionally, identify the potential fixtures in advance and pass the tickets on to Manchester based schools.

Common sense doesn't always seem very common at City. They seem to spend more time trying to screw us than help us and ultimately themselves...perverse !!

Had 3 Liverpool fans sat next time SSL3, when they scored the women got up and started filming the away end, I told her partner to advise her this is not wise. The issue is also the Liverpool fans are not normal match going fans but people who follow them, but don't understand the culture of being in the wrong end, that's why you see them queuing up in their colours oblivious to what is happening. City will be responsible for someone getting seriously hurt

I'd be careful buying tickets from some of some these sites. Not all of them will actually have the tickets - some will only try and source them after you've stumped up the cash so you might not even get them. Now I know Live Football Tickets are a well known outlet and might not be quite so underhanded but it allows me to select up to 18 of the cheapest £125 tickets in the away end and I'm not convinced they'll physically have that many tickets.

I never would buy from them. Learnt my lesson buying concert tickets from Viagogo a couple of years ago. Received an email 2 hours before gates opened to be told that they had been cancelled. Never again.

This issue and general unhappiness with the club seems to have blown up on here, social media and at the match itself.

It feels like fans have had enough and we’re at a bit of a tipping point.

Yeah, but you are posting about Liverpool fans and Scousers. ;-) (or Norwegians)

Still no minutes from the club about the City Matters meeting on the OS.

It's the old City ploy of dragging it out, letting the fury amongst the fans die down, and then putting out a genetic and watered-down minutes about the meeting on the OS.

Exactly this.

The club kept on thinking they could treat the fans like shit, and keep on getting away with it. Well, they can't get away with it anymore. There will be fan protests soon if things don't change.

Players and staff need their away allocation removing for starters. They should have allocation for home games but away be left to actual fans. Would love to know how many each get, even a couple each soon adds up. Then for someone at City to monitor these sites and the handful of aways that pop up they find out the ticket details, then ban the owner. Is that too easy?
now you mention it there was a former City player who was on loan at Leicester for the 6-1 derby game, my cousin also played for Leicester at same time and the City player received 2 tickets for this game even though he was currently on loan somewhere else to the point he sold the tickets for £100 each

The only club statement will be lecturing the City fans again that bad behaviour will not be tolerated.
